I want to know what you guys think which A4 has been the best in terms of handling, styling, quality materials, looks, and of cours performance wise?

it the the B5? B6, B7 or B8 model? this is all opinions nobody is right or wrong here!

anyways I think the B8 is the most good looking car so far, torque is amazing but lacks HP.

now post why you like that model and explain why

I'll say B7 just for the fact it was my first Audi. Everything in terms of horsepower, torque and handling is good for me since I came from a mk5 TDI jetta which had none of those but had crazy miles per gallon/full tank.

I have always been a fan of the B7 Avant, and I own a B5 sedan (fair amount of mods). I have owned my vehicle for a while now, before Audi was really big like that. And during this time my car was one of those nice looking vehicles that many did not care for (probably still, since it's a B5). I get tired of my car many times, but then I simply do more stuff to it and that all changes (plus going WOT never hurts ). For example, going for a 27psi 93 tune next on a 530hp turbo. Also going to build a cylinder head I have laying around with bent valves.
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch

Body style b7's win it for me. I do not care for the older styles. As for the avant, I have never like wagons much but I saw one the other day and it was not bad. If you have a family I can see the attraction.

Ive always thought the b6 had sort of an iconic Audi look, like a sexy bar of soap. I like how the b7 drives better though. The b7 v6 is probably my favorite (subjective best) out of the box if I had to choose.

I get moist when I see a B8 around town. B7, I'll take a second look. B6, meh unless its a USP. B5, will always own one. They will be a classic Audi one day, IMO. It's the vehicle that really allowed Audi to step in the market as a noticable competitor.

When I think Audi I think B5 instantly. IMHO it is the face of Audi to true enthusiasts and It doesn't get much better. I feel that each model line has its own persona though... The B6 moved Audi into the a more refined looking car design while maintaining its Audi taste. Going into the B7 the interior is my favorite of any Audi to date... The B8 interior just look cheap in comparison, even though the plastics and such feel much more solid. As far as the B8 goes, I believe it has the best looks. The front is aggressive yet conservative at the same time and with the LED package the cars tails make the rear of the car just look chilling at night.

Like I said before I think all of them have they're own characteristics that make me want them all, but if I had to choose just one it would be the B8 simply due to the updated engine which is where the majority of my interest lies.

Is good to hear all this opinions I didn't know you guys were a lot in the B5 model i'm surprised indeed. I think the B8 has the worst looking interior for some reason. I hate the ass of the car. for me the B7 has a fat ass.. I love it. but the B8 has the best looking front hands down. Not the Mention my Favorite audi is the B7 RS4. and for pure luxury i would have to go with A7/S7

for a S4 model, the iconic look of the B5 still makes me smile.
The newer B8.5 is currently my favorite sedan design. The interior is too die for.
Avant models, well that is a hard choice. The B7 when done correctly looks fast and aggressive, the B8 s-line just looks nice.

Not sure where to put the b6 usp edition, i don't like the look for a B6 but the usp makes it look completely different.

Regardless of anything, my next car will be the all new designed S3 sedan. or A5

Gotta be the B7 for me. I have an 08 A4 Quattro S-line. The interior is FAR from outdated in terms of styling as well as the exterior. Keeping it clean is a huge priority for me. The Brilliant Black color + Tints + Gunmetal TSW Nurburgrings get me compliments ALL the time, even from other audi drivers. I've always felt the B7 platform for the A4/S4 was timeless. It's a car that I think will always catch someones eye. MPG is fantastic especially with the mods. Even though it's an "older" A4, my favorite compliment is when I drive to the city and play Designated Driver for friends/friends of friends. We walk to the shiny car with the lights reflecting off her sexy curves and they go, "THIS is your car?"

I'm totally in love. Who needs 1 ring when you can have 4?

    Awesome.

Personally, the b6 Ultrasport Avant is my favorite. Followed closely by the B7 S-line Ti. If my B6 USP Sedan were an Avant...

I'm a huge fan of the body shape of the b5 though. So classic. I REALLY wish the new A3 sedan weren't going to be such a dud in the powertrain department (no Manuals FTL...) because in a few years when they start popping up used, I would be all over that...

Also, FWIW, the b6 and b7 100% share identical suspensions. The only noticeable difference being that the Servotronic is different on the b7 than on the b6. Also the USP suspension is the same as the normal sport suspension. The b6 and b7 share interiors 100% as well (minus the S2+ and MFSW). The only major differences between the b6 and b7 are the exterior and the engines. Otherwise they're almost mechanically identical. If you sit in my b6 then sit in my b7 you'd be hard pressed to tell the differences to be honest.

A4 wise: B7, not just because its the one I own. B8 seems like a me too, 328 alternative IMO, .5 killed it looks wise, B5 I don't see too often to have an opinion, B6 is growing on me slightly. Just love how the 7 is overall, do a LED headlight look and non Audi people would think its new if you do it right

s4: B5 of course, but to be honest, its tough between 7&8, 7 with its V8 and all the JHM goodies vs the easy tuning of the 8

    Honestly, a B7 RS4 Cabrio would be my #1 choice, hell of a rarity/beast

Stance wise, the B7 takes it for me. It's so classic and timeless, and I feel like it can always keep it's edge even among newer modern day cars. To this day I still have people asking me if it's a newer gen model.

When I was shopping I had the option for a B8, but I always reverted my eyes back to the B7

This. Even my B6 gets some questions as to how old it is, but I will admit its a bit dated, simply because all cars have gotten so aggressive in the styling department (which I hate). But the B7, people are always stunned its styling is from 2006. My non-audi friends thought it was a brand new model when I picked it up in December, not 6 years old.

Had a B5 avant I should have never sold. Now have a B7 Ti Avant and I like it as much as the OG, but it feels heavy.
B8 are nice, but a little bloated and I feel the interior fit and finish has slipped a bit. I often end up with a B8 as a loaner every time I take my cars in for service. To me, if I had a B8 it would have to be an S4. But no Avant no care.

Personally, I love the Boxiness of the USP B6's. Bumpers aren't as bubbly as a B5, and the body lines, while smooth aren't as soft as a B7. It just has this Al Capone kinda feel only matched by say an early '00s Chrysler 300c, maybe a Dodge challenger. 2nd would be the B8's for the aggressive facelift.

As a b7 owner I'm pretty partial to them, I think they're a great balance of everything. When shopping recently I checked out a few b8s. I LOVE the exterior of the b8, and liked how they drove as well. Went for the b7 though because I found the interior much more comfortable and for my dollar I could get a much cleaner/lower miles car (especially given my local options for both). I loved the look of the b8 interior and looking at pictures I thought I had to have a b8 because the interior seemed much more modern... but sitting in it it did nothing for me.

I do really love b8 avants, and had they made with with a 6mt I would have held out until I found one of those. Can't wait to lower my b7 a tiny bit and put some new wheels on it so it's reaches it's full potential, still a little goofy with the stock suspension and wheels, but it's functional for the winter so I'm waiting until spring to do that.

just a little FIY... I'm pretty slammed (as low as ST's get you) and the winters here are as rough as they get. It's still very functional, so don't let that deter you!

    I would say quality wise it goes B8, B7, B6, B5

Style wise, I like the B7 rear end the best, the B8 front end the best, and the sides could be tied for b6/7 and b8.

Honestly though, these cars just keep getting better. Model to model you might not notice it as much, but take a two model jump and the differences are very apparent. B7 over a B5, and I would much rather be in a B7. B8 over a B6, and I would much rather be in a B8. Comparing B7 and B8, they are pretty close, and the B7 might arguably be better at the track because it has more feel, but the B8 IMO is a better overall vehicle, and I would rather daily it.

I think that any Avant on any of the platforms > sedans.

    B5 ftw ;-)
