    Thoughts on Avant Garde wheels??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I like the Avant Garde m510 and m590... has anybody tried these on an RS4 B7??
    I'm considering 19x9.5.

Any opinions on quality, fitment etc would be appriciated

  2. #2
I don't have personal experience with them. How much do they weigh, though?

I'm running M310s 19x9.5 et40 66.6 center bore (B8 S4 fitment) with custom 10mm front and 12mm rear spacers to adapt to the 57.1 B7 center bore and 275/30R19 RE-11s. Very happy with them.

My only gripe with them is that all of their wheels are knock offs of some one else's, haha.

I have a set of 19x9.5 m510's on my B6 Passat. I've ran other cast wheels that we sell, and the quality of the Avant Garde's is better than most other wheels that we carry. I've been super happy with mine.

I guess that’s your own prerogative but it’s the equivalent of throwing Lambo badges on your Audi if you ask me. Or Audi badges on a VW for that matter. To each their own

Every company does this though, all have one or two sets of wheels that match, or look similar, granted maybe not entire line of wheels but it's not uncommon?

I completely disagree with said statement ^

Just cause you spend 7k on wheels doesn't mean they are completely one of a kind? Take a look at Rotiform, they just made a Fuch replica, and a few other old-school designs, are those knock offs? To an extent Yes, but people still pay 4-5-6000+ for them. (HRE just did the same with there vintage line)

Plus can't compare badging on a car to a set wheels, people know the automakers, so badging stands out and would look obvious, and out of place. although a set of wheels, no matter the price can change the looks of an car entirely.

To the OP, I haven't run AG wheels personally, although I have brought many sets in for BMW customers, and all have had nothing but good things to say!

Let's be real. This was just an opportunity for FT to brag about his $7k set of wheels by giving his opinion that was essentially irrelevant to what the OP was asking.

Oh I agree completely. Thats why I wouldnt waste my money on most of these aftermarket wheel companies.

Rotiform is pretty much just a scam all together. The amount of horror stories I've heard is unbleieveable.

Ha, you're so fucking clueless. Good thing you went with adv (aka 360 forged).

Oh the classic, you don't have an RS so you can't be in my elite section. Give me a fucking break. I bet I have more knowledge about the platform than you do. And I'm currently searching/shopping for my own RS so you can kiss my ass.

I wish I had an uncle that owned a Ferrari. I've never driven one, but would love to.

As far as the RS goes, I've had cash in hand waiting for the right car for the past 6 months. Took me almost a year to find my S4 so that's nothing new.

You're such an elitist douchebag. Do you really think because I'm still driving my B7 S4 that I can't afford an RS4 and $20k in mods like you?

What's your deal man? If I read the topic of this thread it says "thoughts of Avant Garde wheels?" All FT did was give his thoughts....I for one am not a wheel expert, so I would love to know that a set of wheels that I was considering buying were a "knock off". It sounds like you're quite the "hater" for attacking him like that. We seem to have quite a few B7 S4 guys lurking around here criticizing RS4 owners and telling us how you know so much about our cars then offering up that "you're shopping for a RS4". Try a different approach and maybe we can all "learn" together. Deal?

Seems a little condescending to me....as if the RS is some sort of unattainable car. I have news for you FT, there are quite few people looking for these puppies. Limited production with personal parameters requires patience. Badblue had a vortexesque meltdown in a different thread trying to tell s4 owners to go back where they belong. It was cute.

These cars are rare, but there are rarer cars out there. They are between $29-50k in price now. A lot of people can afford the price of admission.

It's an awesome car, for sure, but let's not get it confused with a GT2 or something like that.

And for those saying that there is not much difference between RS4 and S4, there is. The list may not sound long when you say it, but when you experience it, the tweaks make a huge difference. If there wasn't much difference, people wouldn't sell their B7 S4 for an RS4, but it happens.

We're all enthusiasts here, can't we all just get along?! :p :)

With a statement like that I'm sure all these fake ass wheel companies charging 7k for wheels are laughing their way all the way to the bank..

Who is Vossen, ADV.1, 360 Forged, Rotiform etc... Bet you they all get their wheels made in the same place for $6-700 and made 900% profit and make themselves look like some top notch brand through clever marketing.. I'll stay with "reps", OEM or a company like BBS who actually has some experience in wheel manufacturing.

Not to bring this off topic even more but who was the "first" to have the above design? Most of these companies all feed off each other and designs that have been around for years.

Ding! Let's just call a spade a spade - they're all companies that produce reps. Except for BBS as per the post above.
