Explain to me the advantages of this?

This feature came factory on another vehicle I own and I personally place almost zero value on this.

Not so much trying to be an ass, but as to understand the reason you spent 4 hrs on this!?

    1. I think it's pretty cool, I'm in and out of my car allot so I hate fumbling for my keys.
    2. I like a challenge, I'm a big time DIY guy and I haven't installed one of these until now. ;)
    3. Its got a pretty cool wow factor I think.

    Pretty cool OP.

I know a few years back people were talking about implementing this from the B8 to the B6, but no one ever did it. Cool that you were able to do this. It's nice that the key fob and push button are modeled after Audi's design, being that it looks to be a generic keyless system.

What about the steering wheel lock? I had looked into this a while ago and that had been my only deterrent at the time having a manual car.

The steering wheel lock was the easy part. Took me 10 mins and I had the whole steering column out on my bench. I took a small dremal and cut notches in the 2 bolts that hold the ignition lock in place, used a flat head screw driver and removed the ignition from the column. So when I re-installed the column I left the complete ignition and lock intact, I just piggy backed all my connections from it. I then removed my cluster and hid the factory ignition lock up behind the dash. I didnt cut or remove anything from the car. So at any time I can re-install it and you would never know it has ever been tampered with.

yeah I have installed many remote start systems in other car's, but when you remove the key from the equation, There are more things that need to be jumper'd and or by passed.

Only thing left I would like to do is, hook up a negative trigger pulse timer that will automatically roll up all the windows and close the sunroof when the vehicle is locked. I know DEI makes a nice unit with a built in 0-90 sec timer.

Nice. I did this last year on a c5 a6 for a friend of mine. What by-pass did you use? I used a db-9 in the a6.
I noticed that a window roll up module listed as being included with the unit. Couldn't you wire it to do what you want with the windows and roof?

Yeah I looked into that extra controller, but it is the type that need to be wired up in between the motor and the the window switch. It would be better to throw a timed ground trigger to the factory lock wire to roll everything up. as far as the bypass, it was the one that came with the kit.

Good job. Nice that it actually works and it's not a hack job.
A couple things come to mind-- sometimes I get out of the car with the key and walk away and I don't want to lock it! Or sometimes I walk out to the car to get something and wont have the key in my hand- i'd probably get frustrated! But...that's my problem I guess.

#2 is that I saw that when your car started you DIDN'T have a check engine light. What's up with that? Huh? Some kind of magic?!

but +3 health to you for doing it! Do a write up on the pulse trigger for the windows roll-up when locked, THAT might be pretty handy!

You can turn that feature off and use it like a normal keyless entry

You should be able to wire that controller to through ground and since it already has a timer built in it should be perfect.

Is that your personal video? Pretty nice.

The only negative I see about this is you can't start it from inside your house like an auto-start/viper device. That's probably the only thing I would like to install, since Winter is coming up & now I will have to warm the car up a bit longer.

You can get an auxiliary heater that heats up the interior and pre heats the engine and defrosts the windows without starting the engine, and it has a remote control that works from inside the house. Common factory option in Europe.

Well as cool as it is.. I cant get my heard around it. I have installed the push start kits but I couldnt get the key fob to work. As each time I tried to wire it to the car, the hazard light started flashing and the alarm also trigged. I wondering if anyone can help me on here.

Strange. Forgive my ignorance on the subject, but do you have the proper immo bypass module? If you can start the car I imagine that's not a problem, but not positive.

If all else fails you could disable your alarm lol
