    S6 weight loss options

In all seriousness, what are some options for "adding lightness" on the beast? I think the 4400 lbs is the only thing holding the car back from being one of the most dominant cars out there - aside from their RS younger siblings. Any significant weight savings from aftermarket exhausts? Lightweight wheels available? What is making this thing so dang heavy?

Not trying to be a dick, but it is a 4400 pound car. It's unlikely that you could remove enough weight to really notice a significant difference. Reducing unsprung rotational mass would be the first place I would start. Other than that, ditch the spare, do a titanium exhaust (see the chef's thread, Brink is making one) and that's probably all you can really do without tearing out the interior, etc.

Sunroof delete is good for losing ~80lbs, carbon fiber hood, oz racing wheels, light weight rotors, your front seats are heavy as hell, also as above said remove spare, but then your really starting to get counter productive with a car you like to drive day to day. Enjoy it for what it is unless your making it a dedicated fun car. Then by all means, gut that pig.

If only this was an option in the US. I *hate* sunroofs and losing 80lbs on the highest point of the car would be great (and save some money, too). Leaves more room for tall drivers, especially with helmets. And sunroofs inevitably fail. And leak.

I like the titanium exhaust option, and I wasn't thrilled with the massage seats, so ditching those for the standard ones is a no-brainer.

what I am waiting for some one to do is make a lighter rotor, if some one made a two piece rotor I would jump on it!

ton of weight to be saved there.

It is ALWAYS an option to delete the sunroof. Of course not from the factory, a carbon fiber filler plate would be the perfect replacement, of course it will affect the resale value if it is not done in such a way that is reversable, but honestly I have always firmly believed it is YOUR vehicle, worry about the resale when its time to sell it, not when you own it ;)

    Spare tire is 42 lbs.
    Jack is 3
Each 20 inch OEM wheel is 29.5 lbs without tire. There are plenty of lighter wheels without even going to forged.
I believe the rs7 brake rotors are direct swap and will also help unsprung weight loss.

Other than that, there isn't much I would look to do to cannibalize my $80k car. Possibly titanium exhaust, but that comes at a price. Brink actually seems like their exhaust will be somewhat reasonable.

I have saved about 110 lbs on my S7. 40 via wheels, 70 via exhaust and effectively made it about the same weight as the S6 now. And that 40lbs on the wheels is unsprung weight...even more bueno

The S6/7 front rotors are two-piece. The hat is aluminum and it's connected to the cast iron (or steel, not sure) friction ring with trick aluminum pins to allow for heat expansion. It's going to be hard to do better with any aftermarket piece.

Lightweight and smaller wheels/brakes is worth 50+ lbs, sunroof delete 50+ lbs, lightweight front seats 50+ lbs, titanium exhaust 50+ lbs, lightweight battery 50+ lbs, carbon fiber panels 50+ lbs

You could get the car down below 4000 lbs without losing many features (mainly the sunroof, seat massage stuff, and some battery reserve capacity) and gain TONS in performance. Granted it's $$$, but that's how everything is.

If you couldn't tell the difference after all that, you probably should have bought an A6!

I'd never delete seats and sunroof and all that. If I were going to go that crazy, I would just buy an s6 donor and swap it in an s4.
I'd prob go as far as titanium exhaust and wheels but draw the line there. You do have a point though. Car would handle and accelerate much better but it's also just a huge car to begin with
