what is the best way to black out, glossy or matte the front grill and trim pieces.

i have the driver assistance package and what not so i have the fog light looking sensors on the bottom of the bumper.

i want to black out the entire front grill?

are people wrapping them? plastidip? powdercoat?

what is the best way to remove all the front trim pieces? grill? unaware how to remove anything.

that white a7 thats bagged did a good job, can you comment? Gstno1?

best way to do it would be buy a black optics package,

plastidip is a matte finish and can be hard to do even

wrapping is not hard if you are patient

the cost of powder coating does not really justify doing it.

If you want the oem look just buy the back optics package then vinyl the rest of the parts, that is my suggestion if I was to do it.

below is a good example found on audiworld

i cant really justify buying the whole optics package at this point, and my main concern is the front grill with all the sensors and such.

where is the best place to find a black optics package front grill,

and does anyone have a black optic front that wants to trade

    You can buy them from a variety of online vendors or go to your local Audi dealership parts counter. I just purchased/received my Black Optic S6 grille from OEMplus;

How is the quality of their work? I'm looking for a local place to install headlight protection film, the rear luggage/trunk protector, and I might get my aluminum window trim covered with black vinyl. They're fairly close to me.

Is that done by wrapping those parts in glossy finish?

I'd go plastidip. Super easy, super cheap, fully reversible. It'll look great if you do it right (which isn't difficult), just follow the how-to videos on dipyourcar.com.

Gloss black is no problem either, just hit it the regular plastidip with a few coats of glossier at the end.

Plastidip is cheap and temporary... that's a plus and a minus. It's not very durable, so you'll have to keep peeling and reapplying. Although, it is good for getting a feel of how your car would look w/ black trim/wheels/panels/etc.

Very good, all of San fernando Valley goes to this shop, pretty much all the AUDI and bmw dealerships send their clients here as well. I have a friend who got his entire car stickered up 8 years ago and it's still in perfect shape. That example tells me their work is durable. I would recommend to go on their site and see the stuff they do first...

Yup, stickers that you can pull off anytime if you wanna go back to chrome. The stickers are obviously super durable (for many many years), not stuff that peels off in 6 months...

I Plast-dipped all my emblems, front grille, window trim, door handles and OEM wheels. Takes just a little practice but with patience the results are very clean. Inexpensive and reversible if you get tired of the look.

Also you don't have to remove anything to Plast-Dip. Just tape off parts. Private message me if you have any questions.
