    Awe exhaust possible issue

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Awe mufflers have small weeping holes on the bottom of ther mufflers. My drivers side muffler after I pull into my garage leaves a patch of liquid about Palm size on the concrete but nothing from the passenger side. The liquid is not clear it has a touch of black to it. My exhaust is the resonated version and seems to me to be a little louder than before but this may just me thinking this. Anybody else have this issue or any input

Those are purely to drain any condensation to prevent rusting inside of the rear mufflers. No need to worry.

Weeping holes in mufflers.... I can't honestly say I've seen that in ANY exhaust I've ever had. Can you post a pic?

Obviously there's more condensation on one side than the other. Go ring it out and blow some of those cobwebs out of the exhaust. See if it's still an issue after some spirited driving. If you pussy around in it too much, you could develop this sort of thing depending on your climate.

Companies using advanced sound cancellation technology ensure optimum internal resonator free volume by utilizing condensation drain holes. Otherwise, the condensation would build up when cold and alter the frequency cancellation tune.

Both rear cans should be draining. If one is and the other is not, check the hole on the non draining one to make sure it is clear. If it is, make sure the can is pointing downwards toward the rear of the car, as called out in our install manual.

Went outside to my car armed with a toothpick and opened the drainage hole up it was clogged. Everything's good now

On the same note I have a weird sound at low rpm when I am next to a wall or in a garage and the sound is amplified. It sounds like a rapid ticking. It really detracts from the deep exhaust note. It's not a leak. Any idea what it could be. It goes away at about 2500 rpm. Sounds like a zsssttttzsssttzzsstt...

Lol... I like the description. I have a Wierd little ticking sound as well and cannot figure it out. Mine is non-res and went back to install shop and everything is tight. The only time I can hear it is when I accelerate along side a concrete divider or some other wall on the passenger side.

I think I've grown immune to it. It's very slight.

Awe? What is this sound ? It's almost like a metal fence vibrating against metal in a ticking fashion. It sounds - broken or like a honda aftermarket exhaust sound. Not at full throttle, just under low rpm.
