Question How to remove window chrome trims?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Maybe anyone of you can help with this problem. How to remove window chrome trims from A6 C6.5 Avant? I want to wrap them with vinyl black matte.
It is easy way to remove trims or I have to dismantle half a car? :)
Pics or video very welcome :)

In my experience, removing trim pieces is a real pain in the ass. Usually end up breaking the trim. Just take your time and wrap the with vinyl while on the car.

I'm not positive, but I seem to remember that to remove the trim, you have to disassemble the doors and drill out some rivets from the inside (ie: the trim is riveted in place). But again, I'm not positive about this....

Same..I asked a friend a while ago when I asked him to remove it to paint it black and told me it was more hassle than its worth tbh..not as easy as just pulling on some tabs and it coming out..

I didn't answer his question because I don't really know how it is done. What I do know is that it is not an easy project. When I recently had my car repairs after an accident, the Exotic paint and body shop that SPECIIZES in high end cars broke a couple of pieces removing them. I only made the suggestion of leaving the trim on the car and wrapping it since that appears to be the easiest way to go about it.

You don't need to use turpentine, just isopropyl alcohol is fine to get a strong adhesion.

Anyone know what I can use to bring back the luster in the aluminum trim?

Not meaning to revive an old thread, but I have the same exact question as the OP. I have a C6.5 Avant that I need to remove the trim around the rear window from so I can replace the driver side quarter skin. Anyone know how to do this properly?

It pops in and out. You do not need to remove to vinyl wrap.

I took care of it already. Didn't need to remove the whole thing, just undid the portion around the quarter window. Pulled the window already too.
