Anyone hear of LED Audi rings for the grille and trunk

You'll always have the peanut gallery in the background chanting would you shouldn't do to your car... I think it would look good (if subtly done). The new Mercs have it as an option and I think it looks quite unique.

To be honest an illuminated logo is really no more or less cheesy than LED DRLs. They're both primarily for show. Some will think it looks cool, others think its a cheap gimmick. The reality is, with the way all car manufacturers copy one another, illuminated logos will probably be a standard feature on most new cars in 5 years...just like LED DRLs are today.

+2. The problem is the MB's new look is more of a silhouette effect. The few that have attempted this with the rings, make them glow like a beacon. If the rings were more subtle in lighting, it would blend well, but the aftermarket version does not match the factory lighting very well. From a distance the intensity of the light would make the rings distorted and it looks like a blob of LED on a grille.

OP, What's your budget for the looks department? ABT makes a cool trunk spoiler, but it is about $800-900 (depending on your painter) to acquire, paint, and install it. You can paint your brake calipers for pretty cheap. Tint your tail lights for about $100 or less. Tint your windows for $200+/-. Lower the car for about $250 plus labor. I personally plan on figuring out an in-expensive way to get the black optics look on my car. Eby has an RS grill that someone installed on the AW forum. It looks good for the price.

With anything else it depends on quality and how led is used. I have seen some very nice LED work on Audi's that looks very high-end. I would do something like this in a heartbeat.

I personally like just the rings on the grille lighting up in WHITE, not weird neon pinks, lime greens etc. Now that I'm blacking out my grille and everything will be black on black, I think it'd be cool to have the rings light up in white...

I am mixed, but I think a subtle lit set of rings on the grille would look good. To me it has to be very subtle and much less bright than the DRLs, bt done right I think it can look nice, but should only be lit when the headlights are on.

Unfortunately, this is only for the trunk emblem, not the front. I would def be interested in the front grille rings. Sooner or later, someone will end up selling 'em...

I think if the rings or in the case of the RS6 had a more subtle back lit effect to them like the MB, it would work. The Quattro is cool and all, but a little much though. The color match is good and the brightness is equal to the DRL's, but I still think it should be a bit more dim lit.

I would want to see the set in reality and how it lights up. Your description sounds like something I would be interested in though.
