I'm familiar with Anchor brand mounts for domestics. Summit Racing sells them. Usually very cheap, all rubber mounts. Hold up ok.

I have no experience with them in our cars.

The reason I ask, is I have the 034 Motorsport Street Density's in now and although it buckles the engine down there's a little to much vibration for my liking. Rather than dishing out ~$300 of money I don't have at the moment for OEM mounts (seeing how I just spend ~$240 on the 034Motorsport Mounts) I figure I'd throw the Anchor mounts in for a fraction of the price.

Are they seated correctly? Did you install... run... re-tighten? I have the 034's street density and although there is slightly more vibration it's nothing that one can actually feel.

    X2^^

ive heard that letting it idle before tightening everything down is the way to go so that everything settles in before you lock it down.

Yes they're seated correctly, I think the fact that its a tiptronic lends itself to a little more vibration than a 6spd would experience with the mounts. When I went to re-tighten them the bottom bolt snapped off the mount . Which really makes me mad because they've only been in for 6 days. I ordered the parts from Europaparts.com so whats the policy on returns and exchanges? That bolt shouldn't have snapped off like that, especially on an item I just bought less than a week ago.

Unfortunately install errors are not valid for replacement. I have customers with both tip and 6mt and there is no difference in vibration. I've also never had an issue with a bolt snapping off if installed correctly.

I'd get a hold of 034 with proof of purchase to see if they would do a manufacturers warranty. That sucks though!

The install for motor mounts isn't exactly brain surgery. I removed the snub mount, jacked up the engine, took out the old mounts, making marks where the little nub on the old mounts sat in the mounting brackets, installed the new mounts , lowered the engine, let the engine run for a few minutes, and then tightened everything up. Vibrations were still there, went under to make sure everything was tightened up and bolt snaps off. Not a happy camper.

Did you over torque? We have sold literally hundreds of these mounts and haven't had a single install issue.

I had a stud snap off my brand new 034 mounts also. Hand tight with a 1/4 drive ratchet. Broke before it even started to get tight. That was about 3 months ago. Can't prove it wasn't install error so I ordered another one.

Good news, I contacted 034 Motorsport and they are going to send me a new motor mount free of charge to replace the broken one. Two thumbs up for 034 Motorsport !!!!

So when you do this, you HAVE to re-adjust the snub mount after a week or so. The vibrations come from the snub mount, not the engine mounts. If those are torqued and aligned properly, they CANNOT cause much vibration by themselves (unless they're 034 Billet Aluminum solid mounts ). What happens when you install new mounts is the engine ends up being raised a bunch compared to the old saggy mounts This in turn changes the location of the snub mount on the retaining cup and when the snub rests on the mount at idle it introduces a lot of vibration.

Don't believe me? Loosed the snub retainer and start the engine. There SHOULD be zero vibration.

What you need to do is drive with the new mounts for a good week, get them "broken in" so to speak and let them reach their nominal resting height.

Get the car nice and warm, with A/C on high. Loosen the snub retainer and on as level a surface as you can. Tighten down the sub retainer making sure the snub itself doesn't actually touch any part of the snub retainer. Then you should have little to no vibration.

Also with a tiptronic, you will always have vibration in gear. In P or N, the engine should be smooth.

True... Once I installed my motor mounts and dropped the engine back I noticed I had to re-adjust the snub mount bracket.

That's some good thinking! I'll have to try that when I do mine whenever they go (almost 100k!). I was looking at the BFI ones, I like the design. Anyone here tried them or had experience?
