    Slight vibration in gas pedal

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys

I have searched on here and I found a couple of answers but I want to see if I can get other opinions. I replaced my control arms upper and lowers and both axles three weeks ago. I noticed when I was driving I felt a slight vibration in the gas pedal ( they were resurfacing I95 ...anyway) I thought it was due to resurfacing the street. When I let off the gas the vibration goes away. I was thinking engine or tranny mounts but I don't know. I don't think the previous owner replaced any of the mounts. Any help or direction would be appreciated. Btw 2000 S4.

    Thanks in advance
    Cory

    Alignment? Check cv/bolts?
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

But using new bolts on the new axle would really make the difference. How come? Also i did not use raxles or anything like that is there a way that i can say for sure the axles are bad , off balance or something? I just dont want to spend money on a new transmission or clutch when i dont need it.

The axle shoulder bolt is a stretch bolt, along with the six flange shaft bolts, use Loctite too, they're cheap 20 bucks per side if you go OEM, cheaper if you go aftermarket. Something you need to torque to specs also.

Alignment, wheel balance, wheel bearings, driveshaft center support... A bad CV will be audible but you won't feel anything that jumps out until the ball bearings are about to break free of their prison, or at least the other options are way more likely if you're feeling vibration through the drivetrain.

TBH, "vibration in gas pedal" is a terrible place to start diagnostics from. You could be describing any number of issues from engine/mechanical to suspension to CVs/transmission.

Well.....I do feel a vibration in my steering wheel and in the gas pedal. The vibration happens when it is under load approx. 2k and on. I don't know how else to describe it is there anything else that I should add. It is really annoying and I want to get it resolved lol. Thanks for the info
