Driver's side mirror keeps moving...

I have a 2005 A6 with the seat memory option. I'm relatively new to the car. It seems like every time I get in the car I have to move the mirror from a defined position it consistently makes it easy back to. I've tried moving the mirror... setting it to memory positions 1 and 2, with the window switch in the center AND on the driver's side adjustment setting.

Is there something I'm missing?

When you shut off the car, does the mirror move automatically or is it moving while driving?

You need to reset the memory to your adjustment needs, the car is adjusting for the previous owner's settings...

It's not moving while driving. I haven't caught it moving though so I don't know when.

How is this done? I have full working VAG-COM.

Mine started to do this recently after I screwed around with the memory adjustment. I noticed it does it when you unlock the car. Its somewhere I'm the options I think
Or could be that small button on the left side of the starting wheel column beside the adjuster buttons.

The car is supposed to remember the settings which exist when you lock the car with your key. If you are not locking the car then this could be the problem. Also, are you always grabbing the same key? If not you could be fighting yourself

Only have one key... but locking by remote, not blade, so that might be the problem.

Pressing the lock button on the remote should lock in the current settings, pairing them to that FOB. The memory buttons on the door are separate from the key FOB function, and no matter where the seats/mirrors are positioned, upon unlock with the fob, they will go to the position paired with that fob. I'm not sure if this is an Advanced Key function or not. Do you have advanced key?

I don't believe so... I have to put the key in the ignition. But I think the mirror does move back when pressing the unlock button... so maybe?

I also saw a thread about to set the memory for the fob you have to press which memory setting on the door you want to pair to the fob and holding it, then holding the unlock button on the fob you are setting it to for 2+ seconds and then it should save that setting to the key... but I'm assuming that's just seats. Apparently there's three different codings available for the memory controller, 1 for by last adjustment upon locking, 2 for paired using the method I just explained, and 3 for no memory.
