    Removing side mirrors

Does anyone have a DIY on removing the side mirrors? I had mine wrapped in gloss black vinyl, but it doesn't look very good. I think it would be a lot easier to do if the glass was out and the mirror was off the car. I found a DIY for removing the glass on an A4 (I assume it's the same on the S4) but can't find good instructions on removing the mirror from the car. Has anyone done it?

    Thanks!

Move the mirror all the way down and towards the door (bottom right corner if driver side). You can see with a flash light that there are small tabs you can release with a screw driver and the mirror pulls right out. Unplug the harnesses and you are set. The rest of the housing just snaps apart but be really careful everything is plastic and it can be like doorcards, once you take it apart it never snaps together again quite as tight.

I don't think I'll take off the silver cap, just want to take the entire housing off the car and then remove the glass so the vinyl can get right inside behind the glass
