    Hello everyone.

I know this has been done according to this link I was reading up on here from a while back

    http://audiforum.us/threads/vim-hack...my-rns-e.4281/

I would like to know if anyone HERE has attempted this.
I want to add a video input, but I'm not certain which way I could go.
I know Kufatech has some options too.
    http://www.kufatec.com/shop/en/audi/...-1.0-audi-seat

Please let me know for those that has gone through any of these routes.

I have fw260 and hw74, so I had enabled the aux with the diy also.

    Thanks.

    Hey!

I checked my NAS and found the VIM hack! You have to use the CD and update the firmware. I think you also need VAG-COM to change some settings (adjust video speed from 5 to 255 km/h). Don't buy any shit for the video in motion hack! It will kill the speed signal (CANbus) you can't use your navigation while watching video's. The VIM hack is the only way to go and it is FREE.

I did it in 2009 and had some help so it's kinda blurry for me. I used a CD from a guy a know so I have never used the actual file on my NAS. I looked into the file and I can see that I have EU and US files. Also the SDS hack is on the CD but I don't think that will work in the US. It works in my US B7 Avant but I flashed my RNS-E to EU because I moved back to the Netherlands.

The .RAR file is 34 MB give me some tips on how to send it and I will do it.

On more thing: the RNS-E has some troubles with copied DVD material. You can search the internet on how to make copies for the RNS-E. I don't know if it's the same with CD's. Use verbatim CD's...

I've got VIM hack on mine, but I bought it that way. Currently have it set up to play videos from my iPod.

I don't like that it stops playing video when I move to NAV, or another mode, though.

Google translate on the readme file (German to English)

So, for not very intelligent means

    - Update cd with SW080 create (Vag Com Channel 5 to position 1)

    - Then downgrade to SW080

    - Update create cd with U.S. SW0110

    - After upgrade to US0110

    - And from then on my Navi DVD upgrade?

or do I need to upgrade before that another EU SW?

because as an EU SW I only have my original Navi DVD

Ah, I have an EU SW 0650 candelpower only the play,
changing over all the values again, and then downgrade to my Navi DVD
    (Unfortunately still ne SW100 Navi 2005 1)

    - Write down all values

    - Create VIM 0080 CD Source: Europe destination: Europe

    - U.S. 0110 loading.kwi to modify source: Europe, target: Europe

    - Create Update CD 0110 U.S.

    Put channel 97 on 1 -

    - Insert the CD and make VIM 0080 update

    - U.S. 0110 CD insert and make update

    - EUR DVD 2005_1 (sw 0330) insert and make update

    - Write all values, check if channel 5 is still 250,
    Channel 97 to 0

    - Insert the CD and make Euro 0650 update

    Set channel 97 on 1-37 - Stg

    Inserted modified US010 -

    - System software is updated / restart RNS-E (5 min)

    - RNS-E speaks to English

    Set channel 97 on 1-37 - Stg

    - EU0650 inserted

    - System software is updated / restart RNS-E (5 min)

    - RNS-E Speaks German again

    - SGT 5 set adaptation channel 37 on 250th (the real thing VIM activation)

    - Depending on dannach still requires

    Set channel 97 on 1-37 - Stg

    - EU0660 inserted

    - System software is updated / restart RNS-E (5 min)

    - That is VIM and SDS active!!

Set for encoding and again restart the RNS-E 's

Thanks to this site, the mod vim tool from Klause

    http://audiforum.us/threads/vim-hack...my-rns-e.4281/

And the two AZ members who helped with this long process, I was successful in loading the VIM MOD.
This started over at audiform.us a couple years ago. The links there are down, but there are still some info you can use.
My RNSE is now running the current map and it has VIM open.
I will try and post a DIY for this process to give back to the community for noobs just like me.
