Hey guys, do any of you have experience with lunar silver interior? Thinking of getting 2014 RS5 with Lunar Silver interior (Black Exterior). Just wondering if dirt or signs of wear is more apparent?

    Thanks

I don't think I have lunar, it's more tan than beige. But signs of wear can be pretty visible on the leather and a good amount of dirt should make quite a big difference to the color. Just be sure to clean, condition, and get in/out of the car properly. Lunar does look really good when it's clean though...

my 2 cents: if you wanna keep the car a long time stay away from light colour leather. They require a lot more maintenance and they never end up looking as good as the black or dark brown ones. It will look great new, but every mark and every stain shows.

so if it's your daily driver i would not order silver.

I'm getting lunar in mine, but I plan to have it treated with some kind of protectant to prevent staining. It will be my daily so likely the driver seat will need a quick cleaning every month, and a deeper clean every 6 months. I have another friend with Lunar silver that he has been using for his daily well over a year without any problems. Now if it was lunar alcantera it might be a different story.

I have lunar silver in my RS5; its showing noticeably more wear, and dirt, than the panda (lunar silver + black) seats in my S4 with much less mileage. At 45k miles, seats in S4 look brand new. At 3k miles, seats in RS5 don't. Wish they offered panda in RS5. As it is, I'll follow shonseb's advice about protectant/cleaning. Just noticed, OP, are you trading your '13 RS5 for a '14 RS5? That would be a first.

Yeah, thinking about it. The 14 has Ceramic Brakes.

Thanks a bunch. If you could go back, would you opt for Black Leather than vs Lunar Silver?

I have Lunar Silver on mine and there are no complaints. After 3 months it still looks new. I have invested in Swissvax leather cleaner and it is doing the job. I knew before going for it I will have to be on the top of it and I have no problem doing that.

You can likely buy an ceramic brake setup for less than trading the car in for one.

I have lunar. Takes a bit more detail work, but worth it IMHO. Almost a year old, no signs of wear as a DD.

I have lunar as well and use as a daily driver. No issues so far. Just be diligent about cleaning and you should be fine.

Same here...yesterday was my car's one year birthday of arrival to me and at 14,400 miles it is fine. Daily driver. Just needs a cleaning periodically to get the denim transfer off. Looks new once I do it. About every three months I attack it. Would not go to black/ebony. The contrast on the interior is very striking and gives the interior a more open feel.

The only thing i notice with lunar silver interior is that new jeans tend to show the marks on the leather. :( Otherwise i love the color....
