    Diffuser Questions

Looking to swap out my '14 S-line competition rear diffuser for a quad exhaust swap, and was wondering if there is any difference between the pre-facelift and post-facelift diffusers?

Also, why the heck does the metallic trim piece on the S5 diffuser cost almost twice as much as the diffuser itself? That seems ridiculous for a strip of bent polished sheet.

BKS tuning sells the rear diffuser kit (including trim insert) for $215, and they also allow you to specify pre-facelift or facelift (hence me wondering if they are different). All the other retailers I have found want around $175 for the diffuser and $220+ for the insert, so almost double BKS and "Tuning Fanatics Shop" from Germany on ebay. So I am wondering if anyone is familiar with these parts and why there is a large range of prices.

Also, if the pre and post facelift bumpers are indeed different, wouldnt that mean that there is no way to install a dual-outlet exhaust since it would require the 3.2L diffuser (and therefore it would only fit other pre-facelift cars)?

    Diffuser Questions

The pre and post facelift diffusers are different but I haven't test fitted a swap. The post facelift are designed to protrude from the rear number slightly while the pre facelift sit flush.

You can swap out a post facelift s5 diffuser for yours without issue

    Diffuser Questions

Depending on color, swap the s5 valence and paint the chrome strip black to match the side blades on the comp package.

Maybe also consider painting the valance body color and the black blade in back will really pop and match the sides

The plan was to paint the diffuser a gloss black like the OEM single-sided S-line comp piece. Though I have not looked closely at the S5 diffuser, but seem to recall it having a somewhat rough surface finish that may not gloss-out like my current part.

When guys paint them body color and clearcoat, does that require a full sanding to get the surface smooth?

This is my favorite face lift diffuser, too bad it only has single outlets instead of dual, and is only available on the A5 TDI with sline.

Does anyone have the part numbers for the facelift diffuser and blade? I can only find the pre-facelift numbers on all the quad-swap reference sheets from AWE/APR.

That looks precisely like a dual outlet version of whats on the S-line comp package....and would allow installation of the AWE dual outlet on a facelift car.

Does anyone know the part number for this one?

ChrisFu: I'll be entertaining the same route since I'll bee looking for a dual exhaust. I'll be looking to either get the above mentioned piece OR find someone who can do a custom cut my current diffuser/valence.

AWE Charges and Arm & Leg for the "Conversion Kit."

If you can't find it you can also get a Deval CF rear Valence from EuroGearUSA

If the 08-09 does fit a B8.5, then I would just walk into the Audi Parts department and ask for an 08-09 Sline 3.2 Valence.

I found that AWE's "kit" price is about 20% higher than going on ebay and getting the components individually.

Alex over at europrice is looking into a facelift dual-outlet valance for me and I am waiting to hear back. He specifically mentioned there was a "facelift V6 valance". Hopefully its whats shown above.

I still havent made up my mind between dual and quads. I am not really a fan of how the quads sit relative to the bumper. Even when properly staggered they stick too far out and look quite "cheap" in my opinion. Seems like a single tip on each side would fit better with the highly contoured rear fascia of the A5.

I won't be doing quad. Dual for me for sure. Quad is kind of silly on a 220HP car lol. I mean there's no threshold, but since the S5 has quad, i kind of feel like its reserved for that. Totally up to you.

There is a guy in the wheel sticky that could provide it. He did a rear smash conversion on his B8.

You could possibly consider the valance from the 2013 A5 cabriolet. looks like it shares the A5 bumper as opposed to the S5/S-line bumper. Quoted $165 from my dealer.

The pic of the TDI valance is for the S-line, as it matches up with the euro configurator screenshots for the S-line diesel

Here's a picture of the FL A5 (from the U.S.)...not what the OP's looking for, but could be useful for others with non-S-Line looking for a dual option

For the 2013MY A5 if you would like to do a dual outlet, single tip setup we use the S-line Cabrio Valence and Trim Piece. Same as in post #6

    Hi Guys,

Sorry to interrupt the post but my question is relevant to the topic.

Does anybody know what is the part number for S5 rear diffuser to fit into an A5 B8 Sline? I have got different part numbers given and I have no idea which is correct? The part numbers I have are:

    - 8T0 807791 2ZZ
    - 8T0 807 521B

I am looking for the S5 diffuser with the silver strip in the middle. Which one of the above is correct?

    Cheers,
    Jeff

They are 2 separate parts. The trim piece actually costs much more than the valance. Its what I was referring to in my initial post.

    S5 REAR LOWER VALANCE
    8T0807521B1RR

S5 REAR LOWER VALANCE TRIM STRIP

There we go! It looks like the same part as the 3.) TDI S-line now that the 2014 models are up on Audi's website

    2014 A5 S-line Cab

Anyone have this specific part number, and know whether or not the mesh insert is a separate part?
