I'm doing an experiment right now to see how close I can get to Audi's stated numbers for fuel consumption...and in not driving like a yahoo I'm pretty damn close. Doing mostly city driving, right now I've got about 500km's on this take and the needle is showing just under 1/2. The trip computer says I've got another 250km's or so left in the tank...which is pretty close to Audi's estimated range of ~620KM. I did the same experiment on a round trip from Ottawa to Toronto and back (~1,000KM's total.) I was able to get from Ottawa to Toronto and made it back to Kingston (~800KM's) where, with less then 1/4 tank left, I refueled. The computer said I had another 120km's left in the tank...pretty close to Audi's estimated highway range of 886KM. For my normal driving habits, I get about 450km's and refuel at 1/4 tank.
Chances are, the problem is with those lead-shot socks you're wearing. Make a conscious effort to not accelerate like a bat out of hell and see if your mileage improves, mine's gone through the roof...although it is a bit boring. Normal driving will resume once this tank is out
