    Hey guys,
Couple of months ago I traded in my 2010 TT 2.0T s-tronic for this 2009 B8.

Totally different animals, but the B8 is more what I need now.

Please ignore the plastidip between the headlights and grille. I was playing around to see how it would look after I saw this pic.

Haven't done much to the car yet.
Fitted a GPS unit which works similar to the XCarLink unit
Changed out all the interior lights for LED, and replaced the license plate lights with LED too.

Waiting for the Audi freeway plan to expire next year, and then I'll look into performance mods.

Mileage is anywhere between 20 and 48mpg.
I've seen as low as 5.8mpg when I was sat in an hour long traffic jam where my average speed was about 0.5mph :D
Best I've seen was 38mpg, but I'm sure if I just cruised along at 70 or so instead of the spirited driving I was doing, I could get well into the 40s

    My 2009 B8 3.0 TDI quattro

    240hp
300+ will be worked on next year once freeway plan has expired.
    Then she'll get the following.
    - DPF delete
    - full 3" exhaust
    - Bigger FMIC
    - Will do something with the intake, but right now doesn't seem to be anything on the market except filters
    - software (either Revo who I have a relationship with, or custom software which will let me do the turbo too)

A new intake won't give you any gains in a TDI. A diesel runs on an excess of air anyway, so adding more air to the turbo will not give you more power unless you actually change the turbo and increase the boost and thus the actual amount of air going to the engine. Intake temperatures are also normally not a problem unless you drive hard in a very warm environment. You might see a difference over there in South Africa, but up here in Finland a new IC won't give you much.

The stock 3.0tdi turbo is good for about 295-305hp with a DPF delete and a new exhaust. If you go with a hybrid turbo, you should be able to get about 320-330hp and about 670Nm. If you have a manual trans you need a new clutch and software that will compensate for the massive amount of torque.

    Thanks for the response.
Kinda knew that already about the intake, and why there are no kits available.
Didn't know that about the IC. It was recommended by Revo especially if I wanted to go Stage2+

It could be that Revo have calculated the flow through the stock IC and found it inadequate, I don't know for sure. The B8 IC is pretty thick and already located in front of the radiator, so it works much better than on the older generation A4s. There are several A5 3.0tdis in Finland with over 300hp and stock ICs.

Some what overrated....when I was buying my car it came down to (And I will receive hate for this) a 2011 Mustang GT vs my 2009 A4 Quattro. And well, I'm on this site so there's how that battle ended up.

    Thats for sure.
No doubt Audi are superior in almost every respect, but when you are starved of something, you crave it.
Most mornings on my way to work, I usually cross paths with a Chev Lumina SS, and the sound that thing produces is sooo nice.

@viceory, Agreed. Sometimes hearing a V8 savagely attack the airwaves is necessary....in moderation....

    Really? Why?
Apart from highway gas mileage, your 2.0T is more tunable, and if you wanted the V6, the 3.0T and S4 engines are better.

Are those wheels 19's or 18's? Also the plasti dip is actually pretty cool, as well as the body colored valance. I've been contemplating going body color on my valance but haven't seen it until now on ice silver.

Nothing a little bit of exhaust work can't sort out.

I,be actually removed the plastidip for the time being. Will be replacing it with gloss vinyl this weekend for a slightly cleaner look.

The colour coded valance was one if the things that drew me to the car originally as well as the oversize tips. Nice and big, but not too much so

I'm not convinced that strip you put between headlights, but lower lip is very good idea (My front is painted in gloss black)

So I finally got around to doing the vinyl on the front-end of the car.
Also customised the fog surrounds so they better match the RS4 style grille.

Fog Grille - HowTo modify to match RS4 style grille

First step is to remove the std grilles from your bumper

Next, you take your trusty dremel with cutting discs and cut away the rear plate

3rd step is to then trim away some more of the three cross struts. How much depends on how far forward you want the mesh to sit. Be warned though, trimming too much of a curve into the rear of the struts will make later steps more difficult.

Now you take the mesh which you purchased before hand, and trim it to fit into the new space you have created.

When you are happy with the fit, cable tie the mesh in place. Take care to align the mesh with the cross struts, otherwise you risk bending the struts which will be unsightly.

I dont have pics for the next steps, but you then use glue (two part epoxy works great) to bond the mesh to the fog surround.
Once properly dry, remove the cable ties, and use your local equivelent of Pratley's Wondafix to fill out gaps and spaces.

Finally you need to paint the grille to hide the Wondafix.

That's about it really. Not hard to do at all, and looks great in the end.

I've removed the vinyl between the headlights.
As much as I liked it, I think it was a bit over the top.

Today I lamin-x'd the lights though.
