Audi TTS Flat Bottom Steering Wheel Retrofit to A4 B8 - COMPLETE :)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys,

Over the weekend my mate helped me retrofit an Audi TT S-Line Flat Bottom Steering Wheel to my A4 B8. I must say I'm very happy with how it turned out and the ease of installation.

Same size, same grips, but definitely improves the feel/ look of the interior. As I didn't have a plug and play harness, all that was required was to modify the existing airbag harness by transferring the two ground connectors and air horn from the TT harness to the A4 one. Everything works perfectly and no fault codes. I'm a happy man!

I might consider the new R8 aluminium paddle shifts to replace the plastic ones when I save up some more in the slush fund. They are sexy!!

Thanks for looking and inspiration on this forum to mod!

    Cheers
    Steve

That's awesome. That wheel is one of the main reasons I want to get a prestige s-line.

No this is the same size and thickness as the standard wheel. Just different design and grey stitching.

    Hi
I'm looking to do this mod very soon. Are the plug and play harnesses easy to source? Don't suppose you have a wiring diagrams the pins you changed?
    Thanks in advance

Nice job on the conversion! Love the flat bottom and the round center ring!

The plug and play harness's are just modified A4 B8 Harness's. Half way down this link you will find a diagram of what plugs you need to transfer from a round airbag harness to your A4 harness ...

Might be a better option as recommended by others to just buy the complete package from Alex at Europrice. Check out some of his options...

Just done mine, very easy mod, just cut and spliced horn connector and the 2 ground connectors onto my existing harness and all buttons etc work perfectly. Very happy with the result

I am just wondering what you guys did to air bag... slip ring connector for driver's air bag should be the same, but their operation can be different. because these two cars are different... Audi changes air bag design quite often so you would better to check those 2 air bags
operation method. this is safety issue.
