    Car Detailing?? Chemical Guys?? NJ

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey everyone I live in Northern New Jersey. I was wondering if anyone knows any good professional place to bring a car to get scratches removed and a nice polish and wax. I called a couple people like CPDetailing and they start at $500 for a full detail with 1 Stage Polish. I have a black car and I would really like to get a good detail done. I have some scratches and swirls i would like to get out. I just dont want to spend $500 for something that might not make that big of a difference. I do a pretty good job myself but sometimes i make things worse then they already are. Heres my next question. Anyone use any Products from the Chemical guys. I was thinking about getting the black optics kit which comes with 3 stages of polish, spray detailer and sealant, black pearl carnuba paste wax, and black light finish. They are a bit pricy but i would rather spend the $130 on the kit and be able to do it myself if it is easy stuff to work with. thanks

If you have swirls and scratches then you will require paint correction which is expensive because of how many hours will be required to remove them. DIY will take practice but can be done. You should give detailers domain a call and ask what kits they have available would assist you in starting your own collection of detail products. They are in northern NJ and you can pick the products up yourself.

if you can do it yourself just get the products, chemicalguys is quality stuff, and also check out detailersdomain as well for other stuff, but yeah its worth it to just detail it yourself the best you can, worst you can do is just try and you wont really mess it up worse than it already might be unless you're using an electric buffer and go wild with it.

i know detailersdomain shop is in NJ as well i think, or one of them but they are a forum sponsor, but yea they can be pricey though but you get quality work. check out the detailing forum section and you'll find more info and some local places.

i have a black car as well, and have minor swirling all over the car, definitely need some detailing. i bought like $50 worth of stuff off autogeek and a $15 orbital polisher and plan to just try and detail it myself at first, it's not all that difficult just takes patience and alot of time, but worth it in the end. if it ends up looking nice again i'd rather have spent just $50 and a few hours myself and get a decent result relative to a professional job.

Yea I'm going to order that kit. Park my car in the garage and do panel by panel very slowly with a buffer.

Chemical Guy's make some really great products! We carry their full line and I've used quite a few of them on my personal vehicle and have nothing but good things to say about them.

For anyone interested all their products we carry are below.

Where abouts in NJ are you? Phil @ DetailersDomain is the best. Even if you don't get a detail done by them. The amount of product they have for detailing is well... i'm a kid in a candy store when i'm there.

    They have it all!

speaking from experience chemical guys is awesome, I have used their polishes as well as well as their washes and waxes. My advice invest in a porter cable 7424 xp. starting at around 120$ its way cheaper than the cost of that 500$ detail you mentioned and its extremly easy and safe to use (its almost impossible to damage your paint with this even with an agressive pad and compound).

Chemical guys products plus a free weekend because it takes aloot time.

I spend more that 1000$ for chemical guys products and I can only say everything is perfect. Im fixing scratches swirls etc by myself. Im from NJ too. If u dont have time I heard detailersdomain in NJ is awsome. But prepare 500 + for basic work. If your paint is really bad and u want like 90+ precent swirl free paint prepare 1k
