Recaro Sportster CS's Vinyl vs Leather

Hey Guys I wanted to get some opinions on the Recaro Sportster CS's. I'm going to order my set soon but I'm going back and forth about the fact that the leather option is now even more expensive than they were originally . The updated leather option now includes the heat standard but that has made them almost $200 (per seat) more expensive than the original way they came. Recaro also does not make them without the heat option which for me is completely useless feature, being that I live in Miami and it's pretty much hotter than hell here all year long.

My question is for those who have or have felt and seen the difference between vinyl and leather. I've heard that Recaro vinyl is not bad but I would love to hear your opinions whether the leather is worth the $600 (per seat) difference over the vinyl?

Unless you're willing to deal with the airbag light being on all the time, you should just find yourself a set of Recaro seats from an S4.

I was told they make a resistor fix kit for them which is like $80 for the pair that is supposed to kill the errors. Plus I really love the design of the Sportsters vs. the OE S4 seats.

Have you actually sourced this resistor kit? This is the first I've heard of it. It would be nice to have more options (even though I already have S4 Recaros).

Recaro actually makes a universal resistor kit I found one here http://www.k1racegear.com/airbag-resistor-kit.html , also my shop installed a set of Sportsters set in an Rs6 and they did not need them. But just in case it would be smart to buy them.

Just an FYI, you have to trick the car into thinking the airbags in both front seats are there, as well as faking the information sent from the passenger seat bladder and both front seat belts. I hope you can get it to work, but it might be more of a pain than your think.

A difference of $600 per seat is a little steep... but those seats are great looking, and I think anything less than real leather wouldn't be the right choice for a car like yours.

I dont have experience with the recaro vinyl side by side with the leather, but I can tell you that there is a very noticeable difference between the real leather s4 recaro and my stock seats- if that is a somewhat worthy comparison, take it as you will.
