I'm curious how often are you guys/gals rotating the tires ??

One more question, what did you guys/gals settle in on for tire pressure front and rear ??

    Thanks,

    Mike

I believe the tread warranty Michelin provides on those requires them to be rotated every 5k miles.

I have only had mine on for about 3000 km and I am extremely happy with them over the stock conti's. I have the tires set at 39 PSI and seems to be a good number any one else tried different psi?

    Thanks for the quick replies..

I'm having a hard time finding a tire shop that wants to mount these things up for me....Of the two that said yes one said $30 per wheel plus stems the other said $210 for everything..

What is everybody doing about the TPMS I forgot all about the TPMS until today ?? On other vehicles I've just run without it and lived with the code for the summer..

S4's don't have TPMS. Changes in wheel rotation speed triggers the TPM system.

Most shops will rape you on mount/balance if you dont buy the tires from them. I would just find a reputable shop and pay the price. This is a situation where you dont want to find the cheapest place but more a place you can trust that wont f'up your wheels.

Just look on tirerack's list of approved installers. The prices for mounting and balancing are listed for each shop.

If you buy from Discount Tire, rotation is included for free. I suggest doing that.

I just put Michelin PS2 on my car last month, absolutely amazing. My friends dad owns a Auto Part Warehouse company. They have a discount with Tirerack, I got them for 996$ shipped. They were 1,300 or so before the discount!!!

Dumb question, but does wheel size play a role in what the tire pressure should be? ex: 19x9.5 compared to 19x8.5 with 255/35/19 tires?

PSS setup handles better, has better tread life, is more quiet and overall is superior to the PS2, yet PS2 setup costs more everywhere.

    Go figure.

I did not notice my PS2's being "loud". But I never drove the Super Sports to compare.

Yeah, I have had PS2s and never noticed them to be loud either. PSS setup is next and the reviews I have read all say they are more quiet than a PS2, FWIW.

Anyway, Costco seems to still be the winner as far as price with full install and lifetime balance, rotation and flat repair.

i have PSS on my car for last 18k miles and i like them but they have become loud. Going to get another set anyway in about 2-3k miles.

My dealer matches tirerack price so they install them for me.

I have run them at 38 all around... Seems 39 is more common here, i might change.

After last service i got mine back from the dealer at 43.... It sucked and i can feel the difference.

The PS2s are way overhyped. It's a very old tire and I don't think it was EVER worth the price, even when new.

I have to disagree with that statement. They are awesome tires, they have amazing grip, when I get out of my car the tires are covered in road dirt sticking to them. They handle better them any tire I have had. I can't say anything about the tread life, I have only had them for about 4k. But performance wise I do not have a single complaint. These feelings could change if I get an opportunity to drive Super Sports.

    +1.

Prolly one of the best tires I've driven. Super grippy and quiet. They are on the pricey side tho.

I havent owned PSS yet, but from what the reviews are saying I look forward to trying PSS.

I can vouch for the PSS being very quiet for the first 5k miles then get noisy, this is true for most summer tires but the sound differential is much largerin the PSS.

Interesting.... I have never had PS2s, the only Michelins that I have had are X-Ice2 and Alpin PA3.
In your experience which tires are a better pick over PS2?

    Thread necromancy!

So I got my PSS 255/35/19 mounted and balanced this weekend. Good new is I needed a balance and my ride at speed is smoother. I have them running at 41psi around (stupid tire shop put them at 32 but I fixed that real quick) and I am finding that they are noisier than my Conti DWS were. Has anyone else done this switch and noticed more road noise?

A couple of points: They are definitely noisier when they haven't warmed up, which makes me think it's just a little too cold for the tires just yet. Secondly the DWS have a much softer sidewall and more compliant ride, which seems like they would tend to ride quieter in the first place.

I'm on DWS now and am also going to make the switch to this tire with the exact same setup. I can definitely agree on the softer sidewall of the Contis, the turn in is absolutely crap.....it's a solid 1/2 second 1 second delay between turning the wheel and getting the desired response :( It's still too cold in MN, but I'm hoping to have them mounted and balanced in the next couple weeks provided some warmer weather consistently. Last year we got 12" of Snow on May 2nd....so I'm going to hold out a bit longer (Last year was a fluke)

I made a post in the wheels gallery thread with all the specs and pics of the fitment with 10mm spacers. I experienced rub in two scenarios after 50+ miles of driving - once with 5 people in the car (expected) and once going from a steep hill onto a flat at maybe 10mph. I would qualify this setup as a no rub setup but I could have my rear camber increased by a small amount to remove any chance.

Great tire, but concur with your assessment. They didn't get as noisy as the factory P-Zero's, but I definitely noticed the increased road noise after about 5k or so.

I've got PSS all around on 20 inch wheels. About 2k on them. Zero problems and zero noise.

I never rotate tires. Get adjustable control arms and change the camber until the wear is even for your driving style.

Nice timing, I get my 19" PSS mounted today via Discount Tire. Really looking forward to it, as I have only ever driven on the snow tires that were on it when I bought the car a month ago.
Good info on the tire pressure I will have to keep that in mind.
