Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I would like to replace my purge valve on my 08 3.2l a5. I took out the valve, It has part number 06h906517 on it. Does any one know if its the same as the 06E906517 version? I cant find any info when I search for the H version that is currently in my car... they also look identical. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

06H906517 is not a valid part number. Either you're missing a letter on the end, or it does indeed say 06E906517.

Shoot me an email if you can't figure it out and I can look it up when I"m in the office.

I know this is an old thread but i have to replace the same part on an 09 3.2L A5. I have a picture of the part, the markings say " VW AG 06H 906 517 G ". Where can i find the hoses that connect to it also? One of them is really mashed where the connector clamps on and looks like i will destroy it once i try to remove it.

    Thanks!

Is there enough spare hose to cut the mashed end off and pull the hose up?

May be worth asking one of the above or just buying from your local VAG dealership.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have a 09 A5 3.2L and was wondering what are the symptoms that you may have a bad purge valve? I think mine is on it's way out.

When you first start the car the idle will be all over the place for about 20 seconds before it steadies.

Has it thrown any codes? Could be your PCV (or oil separator) a more likely cause (in addition to the hose issue of course). What's your mileage?

No codes or CEL, but RPM would idle sometimes at 900-1000 at a stop light, started this past Saturday, happened once again on Sunday, then today nothing, idle would be normal. I'm up there, 180K miles.
