Audi A4 to RS4 Grill question.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello guys if I wanted to do a conversion from the basic Audi A4 B8 grille to something like this how hard would it be? Is this easy enough to do by myself. and how much would this cost? I'm looking for around 200$ total if anyone could link me to where I could buy one for that price I would be very appreciative.

    Thanks

It easy, all you have to do is take off the bumper. A good 10-20mintue job. Maybe longer, if it's your first time. You can find the grille on eBay for around 200 but then maybe 60 for shipping. Unless you can find one in the classified for cheaper. Just search b8 a4 rs4 grille on eBay.

Good info above but even better, so a search and you will find everything you need to know and see about this mod and then some. There is one very long thread about this.

You should get a spray paint can to paint the crash bar.

And if you have home link (garage door opener) figure out a place to put the sensor.

I plastidipped my crashbar and used 3m heavy duty 2 sided tape for the homelink sensor on the back of the crash bar. it is holding great

i'm not very tech-inclined, but wtf. 10-20 mins?
took me an afternoon of hours by the time it's said and done. couldn't find certain bolts, tabs were a bitch, etc. etc.

Realistically it's about a 60 min job if you're going to allow the paint/plastidip on your crashbar to dry in order to properly do two or more coats. I used this DIY: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...Bumper+removal

Ok, maybe I exaggerated a little bit. But it took me around 20mins to do mine.

+1, except my homelink is taped underneath the air intake scoop.

It's a 1hr job. If you have jackstands or a lift, it's even quicker since you need to access bolts behind the inner wheel wells. If not, you can just jack up the car and turn the wheels to full lock either side.
