Hello gents. In the market for a 2011 A6 Avant in prestige. Can you guys tell me what's the difference between the 2 years? Thank you for all of the help. Went out to test drive both and I noticed some.detailed differences. However, the 2010 was a prestige, the 2011 was premium plus.

Fuctionally and body wise they are identical cars. There were no changes between 2010 and 2011. Trim level will dictate some differences in options but not anything else.

Things that I noticed between the 2010 Prestige and 2011 Premium Plus

*2010 has a chrome trim on the lower part of the door, didn't notice on the 2011
*2010 has a different bumper and grill insert foglight housing (2010 is square, 2011 is round) assuming 2011 has the S-Line Bumper
*2010 has no Parking Distance Control but has back up camera, while 2011 has PDC but can't remember if it did had a back up camera
*On the paddle shifters, once engaged on the 2010, it will stay on "Manual" and can go back if you move the console shifter from auto to manual and back to auto. While the 2011 when you use the paddle shifter, it will disengage from Manual after a minute of not being used and goes back to "Auto" automatically

I also read that heated steering wheels only comes in 4 spoke. How can I tell if the car has a cold weather package?

On prestige do they all come in Bose? or Bang and Olufsen on 2011?

Thanks for the answers. I tried researching Google but the reviews are hard to compare. Rather hear from actual owners.

    Thank You

true ... but if you are talking about appearance there was some differences

all 2011 have S-Line appearance package standard whether it is prem + or prestige

meaning round fogs with larger update fog surrounds ...rear valence... S-Line door sill plates
black roof liner was avail depending on color interior

none of the 2 were sport or had 19 wheels?
sport package added sport springs and 3 spoke sport steering wheel
19" wheels were avail for both years

both should have chrome trim door blades
thats odd about the PDC and camera ...hmmm
its true about the 2011 paddles but i didnt know 2010 operated differently... maybe can be edited in VCDS
wish i had control of disengaging manual mode via paddles at will
i dont think B&O was avail for c6 ...i dont remember that in sales brochure either...my 2011 prestige has BOSE and seems like audi/bose improved it bc it sounds noticeably better then the 2005 BOSE

That's odd my 09 when I hit the paddles after a minute or 2 it goes back into to auto automatically.

    1. Hmmm don't know why there isn't a chrome trim on the '11 - mine has it (the piece that goes like along the bottom of the door)
    2. That's correct - the '10 have a more square fog vs. '11 circle fogs.
    3. I believe the '10 has the back up camera because of the Prestige package. The '11 being P+ doesn't have the back up camera.
    4. I've tried this a couple times and actually prefer it going back to auto automatically (I have the '11) rather than shifting to manual and then back to auto.
    5. The B&O's are an extra option if I'm not mistaken.

When I did it at the 2010, it didn't. Maybe I did not wait long enough, but the engine was screaming on 3rd and it doesn't want to shift automatically.

Forgot about the rear valence, it is different between the 2. The 2010 has a solid rear valence, while the 2011 has honeycomb design. I think the exhaust tips are different too. Then again, the 2011 was the last year of the C6 so they pumped up all 2011 C6 with Sline packages.

Both cars did have 19" potato peelers (sport package) but the 2010 has a 4 point steering wheel with paddle shift, while the 2011 has a 3 spoke paddle shift. Caught me off guard to why a sport package prestige car only has a 4 point steering wheel. Maybe it has cold weather package since heated wheels only comes in 4 spoke?

+1 on my 09, and I added the paddle steering wheel and activated via VAGCOM.

Ok, seeing that I am one if the few 2010 Prestige sport owners, here it is.

-The chrome door trim is present on my car.
-You are correct about the fog lights; the round fogs (part of the S-Line package) were only available on the 4.2 that year. This is also true about the rear valence. Audi made the S-Line package standard on all trims in 2011.
-There is a rear parking camera, but proximity sensors were not added until 2011.
-My paddle shifter revert back to D/S after awhile; haven't really timed it before.
-I have the 3 point steering wheel, not heated.
    -Bose is it; B&O wasn't optioned until the new C7 A6 (2012 +)
-The best way to tell if it has the cold weather package is the see if it has rear heated seats.

    I hope this helps!
