    Moog adjustable upper control arms

So if you are lowered and having camber issues/inner tire wear you probably have looked for some adjustable control arms to correct this. Well I have and stern, spc, BFI, they are just a little too much on the pricey side. As I was looking around I found these moog adjustable control arms, and they were cheap enough for me to not give it a try ($230 for all four uppers). In the picture they looked exactly like the SPC/BFI control arms and the item description was exactly the same also. Let me tell you that I just received them and opened the box and to my surprise on top of the control arms and on the bushings it says SPC. So pretty much I got the SPC control arms kit for both sides for the price of one side. Just for info.

    Damn. Seems legit.

Sounds like a great option for people wanting adjustable uppers for less coin. Thanks for the heads up!

BTW, the RockAuto link has a pic.

the pics from the rockauto website look to be SPC ADJ CAs. Its been a while since ive read about SPC arms, but IIRC at the time I read about them, you couldnt buy them direct from SPC, you could only buy them from SPC vendors but MOOG should still list them As SPC

EDIT: I just saw your pics - those are in in fact SPC CA's

They look too close to the Stern design and my personal opinion, I would stay away. Again, not due to price but design
Best design so far is 034

Yeah I was even more surprised that they have the same specs as the SPCs and they even say SPC on the CA themselves, so why shell out $500+ when you can get the same for 230-260. Just trying to help out

are these the ADJ CA's where you need to grind something to make them fit/pivot correctly?

I know this wasnt the case for Sterns or 034s. It was either BFI or SPC where you had to do a little bit of grinding and its shown in the install instructions and the video - which I am looking for

EDIT - found it - The video is in the link and BFI also stats "Yes, some grinding is required - which is illustrated in the instructional video."

Yes in the instructions says you might have to do a little bit of grinding of the upper strut mount but I ve researched and it should not be a lot and also heard that you have to grind a little bit with the stern, I cant confirm it tho

So since they are clearly branded SPC did they come in a MOOG box at all with that part number in the listing? Just curious...

i think my control arms are bad.....i am lowered on coilovers...24.75 fender to ground... but i don't do camber or whatever..

will these still work for me? do i need to use the adjustments or can i leave it at a stock option? def better than oem as i bet stronger and better bushings plus the pricing is good!!! ? Thanks!

They will definitely work for you since you are supposed to adjust them to factory length and they get adjusted when you do the alignment

Pretty sure if you are lowered to anything under stock height you have some camber going on, so technically you are "doing camber or whatever". You probably can't tell but if you took it in to an alignment shop they'd be able to tell you.

Just a heads up, moog makes REALLY quality products. All of the Jeep guys on jeepforum compliment moog's products. I know that they purchased some of their products from my company, and not to boast, but we supply only top tier products lol. I wouldn't be afraid to throw those on my Audi.

Agreed I heard a lot of good things about them and the control arms and bushings look and feel top quality, also in regards to having a similar design as the stern the moog CA are actually thicker than the stern to prevent them from bending, and they also come with lifetime warranty, I will let you guys know once I get them installed and update it over time as well

I can confirm, I had a well built wrangler, I only used Moog ball joints. They make serious quality parts, even stronger than OEM

Moog is fine quality for my car, but when you get into bigger stuff, it kinda sucks. I went with a Moog track bar (pan hard bar) for my truck because it had a lifetime warranty... After the third one died, Moog said no more warranty for me!

    Proof of said truck:

Worked great for me. 35" MTRs 4:1 transfer case, 4.56 axles and ARB lockers. Everything east coast wheeling goes from rev limiter to full traction quickly.

I'm surprised you've liked it so much. Like I said, I would totally trust that stuff on my car, but not on my truck. My truck also weighs in at about 8000lbs, and is about 800ftlbs right now (but not for long, should be 1200-ish within 6 months). She is on 37's right now, but when she was on 35's and a lot less powerful is when I went through moog trac bars. I ended up building my own with a 3/4" heim on one end and a 2" bushing on the other.

Right now my YJ is only on 31's with a 4" leaf lift and the stock track bar still works. I have a 4BT project in the works for it which will take it from 4500lbs to about 5000lbs, then I will probably be tossing in D60's, 4link, and king coilovers in the next few years. I think even that would be too much for Moog stuff.

And if you ever want to build your own stuff, check out Ruff Stuff Specialties!
