    MAF crapped out, best price?

My hitachi sensor crapped out on me and now I'm trying to figure out where to go next. Thoughts:

    1) New Hitachi sensor - Most likely. Who has the best price? Can I just pickup MAF0036 sensor instead of 06C133471A, decent cost savings between the two.. I'm seeing as low as $115ish for the sensor alone shipped, $150ish for the housing and sensor.

    2) ... HPX sensor? I'm jfonz stage3+ on SRM K24s, motor isn't built, and 90mm MAF. From what I've been able to figure out here and on nef, I'm not going to see the limits of the hitachi in a 90mm straight (no-taper) intake unless I add meth or build the bottom end. Sound about right? Basically, is there any benefit to running the HPX in my current situation (immediate cost, performance, reliability, etc) OVER the Hitachi sensor?

    Thanks hombres.

I think one of the additional advantages of the HPX other than increased resolution and accuracy is its ability to be run as a blow-through unit. However, with a twin setup like the 2.7t, there isn't really a place to run it in a blow-through configuration. So i don't think there would be a huge advantage between the Hitachi and and the hpx for your current setup (since you are not maxing out the stock sensor). However, i could be way off base here.

Went with Car Part Kings through Amazon (not Shipped by Amazon unfortunately) but they list the same crap on ebay and their own site. I could probably roll it back on Amazon still but these guys will ship today so its a wash imo. At least someone else will find this someday and benefit.

Edit: BTW, I checked what Autozone has for shits and giggles and I think the guy said $280 and the part number had the reman X at the end. Nice. Nice.

I'd cancel that and go with partsgeek then. I've been burned by Amazon vendors with "OEM" parts. You'll get it and it will say "H!tach!", but if they have shipped already I hope it doesn't. :)

I have a whole thing that I paid ridiculous money for from Larson Audi. Turned out I didnt need a new sensor and they dont do returns on electrical items. I was pissed after they wouldnt refund it and thought about throwing it on the floor and crushing it beneath my shoe because I was so mad. Looks like you bought one but I could have done $100 to help a local guy out. Looks like ill be keeping it for extra lol.

If it is advertised as an OEM Manufactured part, and you receive a knockoff, Amazon will refund you the money if you can show them its counterfeit. Even if its sold by a 3rd party, and not shipped by Amazon directly, as 3rd party merchants still have to answer to Amazon claims.

Good to know. I had purchased an "OEM" oil cooler and it clearly was not. That was a long time ago now though, and pretty sure I tossed it.
