First stop, rims. I see a lot of 5-spoke on S5 and am wondering if that is some Audi cultural thing; something that harkens back to a beloved Audi original? I generally prefer a >5 spoke design, but want to respect Audi traditions as well in my upgrades. I have the 5-spoke 19" rims on mine and I'm not a HUGE fan. They're nice, but not really my style. I tried to get them deleted from the invoice, but I got what was on the lot :).
What rims are most coveted for making the S5 look more aggressive and sure footed in its shoes? My guess too is that Quattro drivers avoid staggered fitments :). Not very rotation friendly :).
- Avoid paying for real 3-piece wheels. Strong wheels that can stand up to daily street hazards.
- Great matte or glossy black look (leaning towards matte - like my old VMR718s).
- Fill the wheel wells as much as possible, w/o taking too much rubber off the road.
- Find the right balance of parts to give me the same chills I get when I see these pics:
