Had a couple mk2 jettas that I planned on swapping and making pretty cool, but I quickly lost interest. Swapped all my cool parts onto one jetta and sold it for $1500. Took a peek on craigslist for my next project - found a 90 coupe for $800.00... checked it out at 3zero3 and it had too many imperfections for me to bite, I honestly only would have paid $400 mainly for the cool 4x108 wheels. Almost pulled the trigger on a 98 a6 avant to 2.7 and 01e swap but I couldn't get them any lower than $1800. Knowing I would have to get rid of the tip and 2.8 it didn't seem like the best deal. Then there was the black allroad that had been there for about a month with a phone number that said it was out of service. It was first listed for $4000.00, then another posting at $2500.00. One night I tried different area codes and was able to finally get ahold of them! Drove over later that night with a scanner, laptop and vag com, and a couple thousand. Ran it for codes and it came back with about 10 or so - 02s.. egts.. sai.. usual suspects. It ran the whole time while we checked codes, no overheating or anything like that, AC ran cold, heated seats everything worked. Shut it off and checked out a few more things before we were taking it for a quick spin around the block. After a while, went to start it and it would crank but not turn over. Owner said it did that occasionally and if we let it cool and gave it a minute it would start back up. Decided to go for a quick bite to eat, then come back and see if it will turn over. After dinner, we tried again, and it wouldn't budge. He stated I could come back tomorrow or make an offer, I said I'd only feel comfortable giving him $1600.00 for it as is. He hesitated for a little, said he'd have to make a quick phone call, then just decided he'd call it and accepted my offer. After another $50.00 for a hard covered Bentley manual, $40.00 for a tow truck ride back home, I had an Allroad!!
2001 Audi Allroad
2.7T V6 Bi Turbo
5 Speed Tiptronic
172,xxx Miles
100% Stock!

Got it home and debadged the rear pretty much right when it came off the tow truck bed LOL. Stereo was in SAFE mode due to battery dying. Called Audi of America, gave them the vin number and serial number off of the stereo and a day later I had the SAFE code. Slapped on a plastidipped euro plate I had laying around.

Got her in service mode to put on the pile of new parts. Timing belt kit and water pump with metal impellers, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, new filters, new fluids, silicone hose kit etc.

Picked up a full b7 rs4 exhaust from Avalon MotorSports for $50.00. Decided all I really wanted was the tips, so I had them cut the mid section off leaving me with just the rear muffers. After taking a look at everything, I decided to take it even further and cut the tips off from the mufflers since there was no way in hell the mufflers would fit where the stock allroad mufflers are. Traded a friend some mk2 parts in exchange for him welding up my exhaust(straight pipes from middle section to rs4 tips) cut my rear bumpers, and weld up metal plates to surround the larger exhaust cut outs. Also bought a thule rack set up from a local member.

Got the deal of the century on some 19x9.5et35 wheels. Vertini Magic Concave wheels purchased from a local member. Need to figure out spacer situation and tires. Haven't really been too concerned about this yet.

Painted some things since I was bored. Swiss cheesed my air box for a little more air flow. More lights and mats to install.

I guess that's about it for now. Have a black b5s4 sitting in my driveway now that currently has my new 01e 6 speed transmission in it. Piecing together my 6spd swap and that should be done within the next few weeks if all goes well. Just looking to have a nice clean OEM looking allroad nothing too crazy!! Took some nicer pictures on a Nikon so I'll have to upload those here in the next few days. I'll try to take as many pictures of the swap as I can!
