    Hitachi MAF wiring diagram.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

Switching for Abox to Mbox, Bought a Hitachi MAF and am making my own connector. The wires don't have to be that color I just wiped them up not knowing what colors I needed. Does anyone have a Hitachi maf diagram per pin on the maf. The colors of the wires on a pigtale does not help as I dont know what they are anyways.

    Thanks.

    From Max@034

Pin 1 (yellow) of Hitachi connector to: Purple/gray stripe wire
Pin 2 (orange) of Hitachi connector to: Green/yellow stripe wire
Pin 3 (blue) of Hitachi connector to: Black/green stripe wire
Pin 4 (grey) of Hitachi connector to: Green wire
Pin 5 of Hitachi connector to: no wire

Also, you should always reference pin # rather than color just in case. But I added the colors for reference.

I cut the Bosch MAF connector off and found this, what should I do with this black wire or do I just ignore it/tape it up?

I have it all wired up, flashed a Mbox tune and getting a MAF signal too high code its at 11g/s at idle, (opposed to the MAF signal too low with the Bosch) haha. It will barely rev in neutral

and no I did not connect the green wire from the Hitachi pigtail I made my own pigtail with similar colors as the Bosch connector.

I know that's what I used, But it does not state what the black wire does unless its some sort of shield/ground?

Okay got it fixed, I had a wire crossed in the "Ghetto" harness I made. Works like a charm. Now maybe I wont have to change my MAF every 5k (damn Bosch maf's)

Ignored it I can remember correctly, I'm still running it this way today, I just ended up getting better pin connectors and shrink wrapping the whole thing up.

    "It's not essential" lol what.

LEt's see. This is just about the most important sensor in the car. The connectors will corrode in no time and will alter readings. If not that performance of car will be off due to wrong mixture, one of these days the signal wire will start having significant voltage drop and your engine will blow up due to knock/detonation... yay, $40 saved (and I am sure it can be gotten cheaper than that!).
