    Windshield replacement shop in Boulder?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi - my 2013 A4 got hit with a rock in the windshield last night which immediately turned into a 10" (and growing) crack on the driver's side. My insurance co (Travelers) has recommended the following options to get the windshield replaced. After doing a bit of research and hearing about issues with non-OEM glass, rain sensors, etc., I'd like to make sure I get somebody who knows what they are doing. Does anybody have any opinions on the following shops, or could they recommend a good place in Boulder to get the work done:

    Glass Doctor of Boulder County
    Boulder Windshield Specialists
    Abra Auto Glass
    Safelight #00524 (2480 30th St)
    Delta Auto Glass

According to my policy I can get the glass repaired at the "shop of my choice" - should I consider having Stammler do it? Any advice or experience with these shops would be appreciated!

    Thanks
    Jeff

I've had numerous windshield replaced by Safelite. They have always done great work. I've lucked out as every tech has been a VW enthusiast and take extra care with my Touareg ---- which also has a rain sensor.

I have a 2013 allroad that needs a windshield. I'm planning to have Safelite do it.

    Windshield replacement shop in Boulder?

Just my two cents... I just had my 2012 A4 windshield replaced by Abra (Phil Long Audi recommended them). They came right to the house and used a Pilkington windshield. Did a great job and looks great.

Most dealerships do not the glass themselves. They have another company like guardian, safelite, Abra, etc. do them. You could call stamler and see which company they go through.

I used Absolute Auto Glass just recently on my B8 S4, and I'm alright with the job that they did. They took some paint off the edge where the roof meets the glass, and some parts of the dash is pressing up against the glass. Those are my only 2 complaints, which otherwise, they did a good job and my rain sensors work perfectly. They also used Pilkington autoglass, which through my research, is one of the better ones, and I'm personally happy with its clarity. Even though they're in Denver, it shouldn't be too much of a bad drive.

I was also highly recommended to use Precision Auto Glass. They seem to be mobile only, so I guess that's a good thing if you don't want to drive to a shop and drop off your car. I'll probably try them out next time...but hopefully the stars will align next winter season and I won't get any rock chips or cracks requiring me to replace my windshield AGAIN.

I used Precision for my VW Golf and they did an excellent job and used OEM glass. I paid for it out of my pocket.

Look them up on DEXKnows and you get a 10% off coupon too. Mobile only - great service tech. I recommend them highly.
