Apologies in advance if this solution exists in the forum but I searched for hours and though several posts describe the same exact issue no one seems to have followed up to post what the ultimate fix was.

And thank you also in advance for any input you can share on getting this problem fixed - I'm a bit desperate at this point and need some urgent help (I promise to follow up and post the solution if I find one so others can benefit):

please feel free to shoot me if that's easier.. i've spent more tha 2k recently at the dealer on an unrelated problem which was not fixed, and kind of forced to do DIY now.

Here's a hopefully useful description of the problems: fuel pump was bad so had car parked for couple of weeks while waiting for an used fuel pump. I had put in a NEW BATTERY just a week earlier, and also replaced all 6 ignition coils. about a week ago heavy rainfall in my area, so when i went to install fuel pump today car completely dead, water inside car on carpet driver side front and back, and about 3 inches of water accumulation in the compartment that houses the battery (enough water that about an inch of the battery itself was in water). Cleaned all of it out, replaced fuel pump, gave boost and car started fine. Windows would not open though. decided to take car for a ride since it was sitting for two weeks and also since battery was completely drained figured keeping it on and running for a bit may help - while at the fuel pump tried windows again and they did open. Drove around fine rest of the day, then when i parked again ALL FOUR WINDOWS UNRESPONSIVE, and the CONVERTIBLE TOP unresponsive too. turned car off and as i'm walking away the COOLING FAN turns on by itself while car is off (keys in my pocket). Tried unhooking battery and reconnecting, nothing change. Now the windows and convertible top completely unresponsive (and unfortunately the windows are in open position so afraid of summer rain at night), and fan kills the battery. I read some places its the ECU, the comfort control module, but then other posts described exact same issues and stated replacing the comfort control module, window control module had no impact. I have not found any post which states a fix for this problem. Any input, or a link to a post you know which states a fix, please?

Thanks much for your kind input.

I love this car even though it's ten years old and has 160k miles it runs awesomely (when it's running). i purchased about a year ago (at 150k) and host of problems which I am trying now to get my hands dirty with (and hopefully learn a few things and FIX). But I am still a novice and may not be familiar with all the parts, terminology, etc. Thanks for understanding.

    UPDATE:

After some more research on audizine I decided to look in both the ECU box that is is below the windshield wiper arm under the hood and also the electronic control module that's under the carpet front in front of driver seat, and WATER IN BOTH.

Everything I've read so far indicates a shorted relay in the ECU box (under hood) is cause for the radiator fan issue; and water in the electronic control module that is under the driver seat is cause of the unresponsive windows/power top.

That's where I am so far.

Do I need to just change the 219 relay to give the fan a first try? Is this (219 relay, or water in the ECU box under the hood) also causing or related to the windows/power top not working?

Do I need to replace the electronic control module under the driver seat to fix the windows/power top?

I talked to someone at the local dealer - guy seemed very helpful and said this is a common issue all the time, and apparently he himself has had the problem on his audi. He insists the only fix for the power windows and power top not working is to replace the electronic control module (that is under the driver seat) - the part costs $750, plus labor, so looking at around 1200-1400?

I saw many posts which describe this problem: power windows and power top not working, interior lights coming on and off on their own. Has anyone been able to resolve this on their own? Any audi techs can kindly share any info to avoid a dealer fix for 1200-1400?

    Thanks much.
