Looks like I need to do this. Part $ is not too bad, but wondering about the install. Anyone done this who can shed some light?

    Thanks!

That was a common failed part for me... had the dealer replace it under warranty each time though.

Just one. Want to know how to replace w/o pulling off the IM. Codes indicate "implausible signal". Thx.

Is that the only code you're getting? Have you tried logging the status of both flaps? Have you made sure the connector was completely seated? ...just some quick troubleshooting before jumping straight to replacement...

    Replacing intake flap position sensor

Implausible signal could just be a vacuum leak. This happened to me after I did a CC last summer. Basically, the small vacuum line the runs by the radiator to the intake mani wasn't fully seated. Definitely check vacuum lines first.

Wait what??? Can you explain this? From what I read, devane and deflap causes issues...

My take on this is that the flaps , the tumbler flaps that are in the intake manifold are not necessary. Also the vanes can be removed also. With manifold spacers this increase our cars output.

the flaps in the airbox remain intact. I think that if this is done Jhm has a ecu map for this. This is an option to replacing the whole im for the 3rd time. I hope it makes sense.

Ok not sure. I know I heard that it causes CEL, and unstable flow.

AFAIK the position sensor is still required if you deflap. The ECU wants to know the flap shaft is rotating properly, even if it ain't go no damn flaps on it.

So just replace the sensor and we are good to go?

One on the driver's side is easy. Passenger side is much easier with the manifold off. I'd recommend that anyways and carbon clean the flaps and linkage on the manifold. Sometimes just the restrictions can limit the movement and cause an intermittent EPC.
