    do mirrors from mk4 vw fit b5 s4 mirrors?

    i wanna buy some blindspot mirrors and noticed mk4 vw ones looks about the right size for b5 s4... plus i heard b5 passat ones fit b5 s4... and i know b5 passat ones are compatible with mk4 so what is that in mathematical logic??? equal by similarity / inference? or?

    nothing wrong... mk4 jetta/golf mirrors are half the price of b5 s4 price...hence my question...

    I just bought the Passat mirrors on ecstuning and they fit like a glove! they are heated/blue tint/blind spot. can't go wrong for the price!

    so do the MK4 Mirrors = B5 Passat Mirrors = B5 S4 Mirrors?

    I could just walk outside and look at the S4 and the MK4 Jetta in the driveway , but that would require putting pants on lol

    the b5 passat is what the b5 a4 is based from. most parts are interchangeable (MOST).

    on the passat forums, there are guys with 2.7TT engine swaps in their b5 passat. ultimate sleeper.

    alright, peer pressure wins, and I finally put pants on and went to investigate.

    The mirror shape seems slightly different. The inner vertical edge of the S4 mirror looks to have a steeper angle.

    Here are two pics i found online that show what i am talking about:

    MK4 Jetta:

    B5 Passat:


    The passat and Jetta look to be the same (in fact they are the same part number on ECS: 1J1857521H), but the S4 is different

    maybe rAphb0y will post the link he used or share some pictures (unless he swapped and entire mirror assembly), based on the pictures it doesnt look like passat glass would fit into the s4 housing. The s4 maybe in the passat, but even there i would expect gaps based on the different shapes.
