Negative camber, with severe outer tire wear.

My car has a camber angle of -2.0 degrees on the front tires. The inner portion of the tire should wear faster than the outer edge of the tire because of this. However, my tires are wearing out on the outer edge of the tires. The inner edge of the tire doesn't seem to have any noticeable wear. Certainly not as noticeable as the wear occurring on the outer edge of the tire. I'm trying to see if anyone has any ideas about what parts are worn that can lead to this kind of wear pattern.

    Negative camber.
Inner tire isn't touching the road (!?).
    Outer tire wear (?!).

check your toe? weird tire pressures will cause not so normal looking tire wear as well.

Revival from the dead, tire rub? After I got my 17x7.5's with 205/50/17's, I get gnarly rubbage on my fenders. Tires have negative camber, but only show wear on the outside.

    Just a possibility?

How are you rubbing with a 7.5 on a 205 tire? Something isn't right.

Old thread, but it's likely excessive toe causing the described tread wear. Could be under inflated as well to make the problem worse.

had a similar issue. my camber was -1.25 but it was my toe that couldn't be adjusted past -.160 on the passenger side. turns out it was a bent knuckle that wasn't allowing it to be aligned properly. replacing the knuckle now and re-aligning it hoping to find the issue.

    here's my progress http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...t-issues-(Toe)

-2° of camber should be fine from tirewear's perspective, as long as your alignment is in check. Take your car in to get your specs checked out, as you shouldn't experience outer wear with something like that.
