Post-dacelift Q5 tail-lights installed on a 2010 3.2 Quattro (pics)

There is already a thread about my Q5, but I thought I'll open up a new one, cause I bet many people are interested in this.

So, finally, today I recieved my facelift taillights that I ordered from Alex at Europrice.

Even though I'm in Doha, Qatar, they were here a week after I ordered them. Great stuff!
Plus, it's super easy to install them, and they were in perfect packed package and all. Kudos for that!

And right when you thought the a** of your car was perfect, along came these and blew me away. I just loooove them.

I recommend that strongly. It really lifts the car a lot.

OT: Anybody know how to change a headline? Don't want my typo "dace-lift" to be there..

I did the same thing with my Stasis thread...have not yet figured out how to change it.

I went all red for the tails before the face-lift was available (vinyl wrap)... and definitely looks much better than stock. I've also asked Alex about the post-facelift as I was interested in amber turn signals, but for now I've got some other priorities before jumping back in :)

Yes the S bumper...front and rear! I nudged a little but It was all her! She wants an SQ5 but we are paying for a wedding in less then two months..... So we will see! Your Q looks amazing! Thanks for what you have done.....cause now I will have to pay for it!

Glad that you are enjoying the lights. Really updates the rear of the Q5. Nice part is that with the pre-facelift models no coding is needed for RoW or North American models. Lights get modified here and you just plug 'em in and enjoy.

Btw, I want the SQ5 too... But not confirmed for the Middle East yet :(

This is a fitment I have yet to try as of yet, nor have I seen anyone try it. Anyone seen this yet?

Everything should come complete from Europrice. I was looking for instructions on how to remove the current tail lights although I didn't know there was a way to change to the newer headlights.

And on that note....could you tell me how to install the GMA antenna wire from the MMI 3G+ unit to the antenna in a 2012 S4? You have a lot of great info, so I hope you can help me with that even though this is a Q5 forum.

Hey there.
It really couldn't be easier, and the biggest dumb** could do that process hehe
Believe me you don't need any instructions. It's like 3 screws, disconnect, remove, connect, 3 screws. Your're done. It takes 10 minutes to change both.

P.S. I just ordered the new headlights from Alex ☺ That requires Vagcom programming etc, but sure worth it :p

the new tail lights look awesome. Very tempted (meaning, I'll give in in another month or so).

OT: the exhaust looks great in the S-Line bumper too. Is it much louder than stock?

You know....I suppose the grass is always greener. The two things I miss about my '12 Q....the eyebrow DRL's and the tail lights. Not that I dislike the new stuff, but the 'attitude' level just seemed to be cooler prior to the makeover.

question, just did this mod, installed the new tails with the harness etc everything works as it should blinkers, brake lights, running lights but the running lights are definitely not as bright as they should be, I compared them to a 2013 from the factory and mine are not as bright. Why would this be? any way i can fix this?

Yup. The running lights on these are not as bright as the standard ones on a facelift. I let it be this way since i think it looks cool, and so Ive had it like this 3 years now. You should ask Alex from Europrice and he'll tell you if it's possible to increase the light level.

I finally came down to a solution for this dimmer than normal running light issue, after going through a million coding options and such its not possible to raise the brightness of the LEDs from the original numbers to full brightness to make the Rings of the new tail light at full capacity, what i did instead is tap the Running light into the License plate lights and now they run at full brightness like they should, The reason they do not run full brightness with just the harness is because the original LED tail lights are running at Half the wattage when the running lights are on then kick to full brightness when the brakes are applied. Im happy with it now and they really look amazing at the full brightness they should and stand out in the night with all the other tail lights in traffic etc. Definitely recommended

Hy. I`m new on this forum and Q5 owner as well. i have a 2011 Q5 and really want to change the tail light. I found this in Holland https://www.autodoc.se/loro/9759516 and really want them.
The staff from the autodoc says that those lights won`t fit the 2011 model. what do you think?

apreciate all helpful tips.
