Does anyone know if there s any place which will rent tools and space for you to work on your own cars in Los Angeles near SGV? I'm looking for a place like that to make it easier to work on my car. Right now I d like to get a couple of things done before my Willowsprings weekend. Something like a self-serve garage or DIY garage. Any info would be very helpful. Thx!

pm Piston. If not a self service garage, I recall him saying he manages some type of shop and was trying to organize a diy meet a while back. It was out in the Conejo Valley area though.

I emailed the shop referring to the minimum 400 hours paragraph. Looks like it is pay per visit. I think they were simply trying to say that it would take you a minimum of 400 hours (or 40 years) to pay their rates to build your own garage.
Below is my original email to them and then below that is their response.

Hello,

I’m trying to understand what this sentence is implying. Does this mean that we must sign a contract saying that we will use the shop for a minimum of 400 hours at the rate of $25 hour for the next 40 years, ultimately paying $10,000? I will probably only need to work on my car once or twice in it’s lifetime and would like to know if you guys have a pay per visit that does not require a minimum of 400 hours.

No there is no contract. All we are trying to say is a regular garage with all the necessary tools and equipment would go over $10K easily. For that amount of money you can use our shop for 400 hours which would be more than enough for a life time usage for most of people. You can definitely pay per visit to use the shop. Thank you

They got lifts and complete tool list you can use. It is super clean too.
