    Question vinyl wrapping unpainted bumper

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i'm planning on buying an s-line bumper for my b7 and then vinyl wrap the entire car in gloss black. i'm probably gonna end up buying a reconditioned bumper because these bumpers are hard to come by. my question is will vinyl wrapping an unpainted bumper turn out any different a painted bumper? visually, quality, etc. any suggestions for the application?

and while i have a thread up, can anybody recommend a place to buy the bumper? s-line front bumper for b7s.

    thanks!

As long as the bumper is sanded smooth you won't have any issues with appearance quality of the wrap

yeah, probably not. i'm more concerned with the longevity of the wrap. after some searching in other forums, i figured out that i'd have to spray some adhesion promoter to make sure the vinyl sticks. i'll try and give 3m a call but if anyone has anymore tips, they would be greatly appreciated!

3M's vinyl "promoter" works really well but it makes it very very hard to ever take off again. I would suggest only using it on tough little areas with lots of litle curves and what not. I'd probably only use it on the back side so to speak, so like if you wrapped the bumper before you installed it, on the edges of the wrap that you would tuck behind it. And then maybe clear bra it?
    I drive a truck now.
