Another A8 Suspension Problem

I apologize in advance--I'm sure that somewhere (through many searches) this info may be gleaned. But I did some rough searches, and did not find my answer.

My buddy has a 2004 A8 w/ 82k. Recently, his rear suspension jacked itself up WAAAAY high and his front driver side is basically slammed. I read his codes (below) and tried to do a level adjust through VCDS to try to get it to level out. He said the green lowering light was continually blinking while doing this, and there is a solid light with ! for level control issues (same as an Allroad). At this point, I'm not exactly sure what to tell him aside from "it's either your module or your sensors".

Please help. Thank you! (and yes, there are a lot of things amiss but he can't drive the car as it is).

How do I check the ride height sensors? Do you mean physically or through VCDS? I did check the levels through VCDS, and it stated fronts were defaulted at 421 mm and rears at 398 mm. Which matches what VCDS says are defaults. There was another set of measuring blocks that gave me values, such as -112 mm, but it wasn't clear exactly how I should be reading those.

I have changed ride height parameters on an Allroad with air suspension, but not an A8. I imagine they would be quite similar, but I could be wrong. I mean, the A8 is a technological marvel.

And I don't think they have been altered at all; I don't think my buddy has done anything but I will double back with him to make sure.

I would start with checking the physical sensors. They are only small pieces of plastic that can damage quiet easily. Across checking that the sensors are facing the correct direction.

Are these independent sensors for each wheel? Or just one on each driver side wheel? In my A4, I have sensors for the adaptive lighting, which are on the front and rear drive side control arms (and like you said, easily are damaged). If they're independent, then what do they look like (i am assume I am looking for lever arms but I could be mistaken).

And currently his adaptive lighting is having problems related to height adjustment.

Yes there are level sensors at every corner of the car. The rear linkage is much shorter and connects from the sensor to the lower control arm. The front linkage is longer and mounts from sensor to control arm.

Thanks! Sounds similar to the other cars then (except all wheels). I'll have him check that out and hopefully be able to determine what it is (if they don't pop out like my A4's rear one did). Is there a specific resistance I should be reading as well?
