Here are two more videos uploaded to YouTube by Bentley Publishers. These two videos explain the best ways to remove and replace both the upper and lower front control arms.

Video #1 - Upper Control arms. If you have not done this before, I recommend watching and taking note of the methods of dealing with the upper control arm pinch bolt. It is very difficult to remove.

Video #2 - Lower control arms. The lower arms are a bit easier to replace but, removing the ball joints can be tough. This video shows the best ways to get them free.

Because these parts affect the steering and stance geometry, make sure to have your suspension aligned after replacing the control arms.

    Enjoy!

And, having done this 3 times over the course of 14 years, remember to somehow position the suspension statically so you don't tighten everything in a pre-loaded position. You will immediately introduce wear on the bushings. I know this first hand.

Hi just saw your post.... I'm doing a shock and upper control arm swap now. I last did it about 130K (miles) ago.

How do you position 'statically'.... ?

Just means you want the suspension at ride height when you tighten control arms.
