Exactly which ZF 6 Speed Automatic Transmission do I have?

First, the photographic evidence taken from my 2005 B6 S4's tranny.

Now we move onto thectsc.com's website, where they provide this nice little pdf explaining our transmissions. From what I can tell, my transmission "should" be a 6HP19A, because it's an "internal 4x4"(their term) and the model number on the tag on my tranny is 1071 040...

A closer look, however, reveals that my tag says 1071 040, but their part number clearly states that a 6HP19A starts with 1071 042. Furthermore, it's surely not a basic 6HP19, because that part number starts with 1071 012.

What I'm trying to figure out is if I need ZF Lifeguard 6 or ZF Lifeguard 8 fluid. To make this even more confusing, this chart has the 6HP19A(2) transmission listed under both Lifeguard 6 and Lifeguard 8 fluids!

I know some of you use Redline D4 without issues, but I think I'm going the ZF route just to be safe. Any help clarifying this for me is greatly appreciated.

I'll provide a slightly different strategy which might help. You can look at the production label in the trunk of your car where you'll find 3 three letter codes. One of those codes is the engine code and the two other sets of letters will be the trans code and the differential code. (The label on our car shows: BKH HNL HYR)

I dealt with Blauparts last month, gave them the trans code and they looked up which fluid was needed for our 6 spd Tiptronic. I purchased the Ravenol fluid from them, it was $15/L delivered.

Your trans code is likely HHU.

    ^^ Thank you, sir!

I also found a bit of confirmation that I do have a 6HP-19A on this site. The main engine code matches mine(1071 040009). So now all I need is for them to tell me which fluid I need, the Lifeguard 6 or 8. I sent them an email.

Just an update for future reference for someone who has the same sticker as mine: Klaus from ctsc confirmed that I do have the 6HP19A transmission, and that I will need ZF-Lifeguard 8 fluid...which is the equivalent of Audi G 060162 A1/A2/A6 fluid.

Sorry I went thru this long time ago. Some tags have the A some dont. You can also use Redline fluid. I have been using it in my car and helped many others put it in there car. better shifting.

Does Redline D4 actually meet the same standards as Audi G 060162 A2? I know that D4 meets the Shell M1375.4 standard, but is that the same standard that G 060162 A2 meets?
