How to adjust ride height on ST coilovers?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, I just bought a set of ST coilovers that I plan on having installed this week. I searched on the B7 thread, along with the DIY forum, and couldn't find how to adjust the ride height of a coilover set (I did however find out how to install it). Does anyone know where I can find a DIY for this? And if not, could anyone who has them explain to me vividly how to adjust the ride height? Thanks a ton.

Very simple, I just adjusting mt ST's again last night

Follow Wildcats DIY, he has KW's but they're the exact same as the ST's. You use the tool they give you and just turn the notch, for the rears you need an allen key. You'll see it all in the DIY

OP, it's a bitch doing quarter turns, but once you find your groove you become quicker. I suggest heavy lubrication to help spin it easier

Also, OP. look at my measurements for a good idea of where to set the coils PRIOR to install to make your adjustments after install easier

quick note, the KW's and ST's have a little different measurements, Wildcat. My rears all the way slammed (to the top) are no where near the same as yours all the way slammed. For reference sake though, yeah

My ST's are the same. My Rears are maxed and not low enough meanwhile the fronts are half way and are already way too low . Not making sense

really strange, it is very dependent on the car. I threw my st rears all the way down on initial install and the rear wheels just disappeared before they were settled I could almost cut the lip of the rim on the stock 17s and had to raise them, such a pain in the ass. 24 3/16's front and 24.5" rear fender to ground atm

when you say "down", do you mean the knob that you turn? Because to lower the car, I have to make mine go "up" for the rears. That's strange yours goes down to lower

Just order some Hyperco 7" springs for the rear. I got mine for $144 shipped to my door. I just measured today my FTG since everything has settled and I'm sitting at 23 3/4" front, and 24 1/4" in the rear on 19" wheels. I can still go another 1/4" lower in the rear if I want. This is where I'm sitting now.

I've already invested the $800 into my ST's though, I can't justify paying more on suspension for another inch, at least until I get other mods out of the way

still happy with them though, just curious why other ST users can go lower than mine

Did you all use the DIY provided up top to adjust it? Or is there another source you all used?

back with pics best I could ignore the dirt, there is about a half inch or so left on the rears, though it actually drops the car a bit extra from the design of the suspension travel

that's not too far off I guess from what I thought. I was thinking you had your tucked like RAaudi's pics. Still, very impressive on stock tires. I wonder if my ST's were installed in their perches properly

Sorry, after finally getting the car to this point I'm perhaps a little over excited and whoring a bit to much. No more, I promise. Haha

I was just trying to show what can be done with Hypercoil springs for the rear. Tankdeer was always helpful with pics when folk were asking about ST's and the rear spring issues always seems to pop up.

Recently got my S4 that the prior owner installed ST coilovers on. I want to raise it back up a tad bit because the streets around Dallas have too many dips and I'm nervous about bottoming it out. Already done it a couple times.

Is it necessary to have the alignment checked/re-done after adjusting the ride height?
