braided fuel hose in place of turbo coolant hose?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
car has a braided fuel hose running to the turbo instead of a coolant hose, i bought it this way. will this hold up to the hi temps? its raining out right now, but i noticed steam coming from under the hood, popped the hood and its coming from under the turbo cover. i dont have any tools right now so i did'nt get a good look. but i'm assuming its this fuel hose leaking around the clamp.
    just wanted to ask opinions.
also, if/when i change this hose, can i use universal coolant hose from car quest or Napa, or should i order specific hose from 034?

oh, its the hose running from the upper radiator hose to the turbo in front of the timing belt cover

    thanks for guidance

PSI concepts sells stainless braided coolant lines, possible it could be that?

If not I would order said product from them, I wouldnt trust rubber hose from the auto parts store.

Coolant line is about 6 an which is close to 3/8inch hose. Fuel hose will work fine or SS lines. It is completely up to you.

I would make your own hoses. It is pretty straightforward and there are plenty of diy out there. Premade lines are nice but can be a bit pricey. Im about to graduate college and pretty poor/cheap so I do everything my self and try to save where I can.

Can the supply line be replaced with normal coolant hose or will the fittings not allow that? Looks like its sold as one piece

No I'm not sure, I haven't looked under the turbo yet. Didnt have the tools to get the hear shield off. I'm guessing no, as the return line is a gasoline/diesel line with a a thermal sleeve around it by the turbo and manifold.
Does the gt2871r elim use stock coolant lines?

yes, it can use the stock ones. and the stock one does have a silver thermal sleeve over it, it's possible that it was replaced and the stock sleeve was put back on.
i cooked 3 stock hoses on my GTRS elim (dumping all the coolant on the ground and leaving me stranded) before i switched over to the braided PSI lines.

Right on. I'll prolly go SS when I figure out what I'm gonna do for an exhaust manifold upgrade
