Best Seat Covers for Hot Weather

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey all,

I have a 2007 A4 with black leather interior and it gets HOT here in the summer. I end up sweating from being in the car for 1 minute. Can anyone recommend a good seat cover I can invest in that can help with this heat?

    Thanks a lot!

Seriously, I just did a 15% on the back and sides and 20% on drivers/passengers side-made a HUGE difference. $175.

I really don't mean to sound like a dick, but if anyone is going to post anything other than an actual seat cover suggestion, no need to bother. I don't need to read about safety concerns, tinting, solar powered fans, etc. I was just looking for some information on front seat covers.

    Thank you

That's the most actual suggestion you could ever get besides tinting... have fun with your exploding seats.

Obviously no one here runs them, hit the google button.

Why is that the most actual suggestion I could ever get? If you Google Audi A4 seat covers a lot of options are presented. I posted here to see if anyone had a specific brand they liked. I don't see why it's so unlikely I'd get a real response.

I live in Puerto Rico, this is what I do

    Start car engine
    Turn a/c on high
    Open all windows & sunroof
    Start your trip
When interior cools down, close windows & sunroof

    Not much choices.

Of course you get lots of suggestions. Because there are plenty of cheap chinese seat covers that are universal or will fit in some way or another. But that doesn't mean it's smart or a good idea. It'll look like shit and compromise not only your safety, but that of your passengers.

Because we have the same seats in every A4 across north america and likely in many other places. Downgrade and maybe swap to the cloth ones i've seen in a few cars.

My ex burned the back of her legs on the seats wearing a skirt once in the dead of summer and I have no tint, I threw a towel on the seat and said there you go princess.

Not sure why you're dead seat on solving this simple problem with an inefficient solution, but by all means I suppose.

I'd imagine the tint you already have is of mediocre quality, I'd spend $1000 dollars on tint before I put possibly dangerous, certainly ugly, seat covers in my car.

    ^^ "dead seat" Lol.

So yeah, if you absolutely have to have seat covers and don't care about what will happen to said seats and passengers in an accident, get them made. No aftermarket cover is going to fit right.

    Dumbest question ever.

The best solution is to replace your crappy tint (its obviously crappy if it doesn't block UV) with a high quality UV blocking tint. UV is what makes the interior hot, so if you block that with a high quality tint (hint: "darkness" of the tint has almost zero to do with the UV blocking properties) that blocks UV, you don't have to bother getting shitty seat covers.

Now stop being a pussy and take our advice, rather than bury your head in the sand...

    Some people...

Even your most basic tint will usually block ~99% of UV, the upper echelon of tint do get up closer to 99.99%. UV rejection is not the most important factor when choosing tint and certainly not in rejecting heat. What you should be focused on is the total solar energy rejected (TSER), that will almost directly translate to how much heat is let into your car.

    Sun shade, hands down.

I too live in the humid south and have also lived in the tropics. Solid window tint WITH a sun shade are your best options You could also crack your windows slightly. I always keep a towel in my car because I don't like sitting in my car after I've gone running and getting sweat all over my seats. Sweat, dirt, etc accelerate leather seat deterioration.

I have the audi one and I actually like the 2 piece sun shade better.

Granted it doesn't say audi on it, i like that it folds up like a taco and is about 12in in diameter so it fits in my glovebox or behind the seat in the pouch.
The audi one is huge and is a pain to roll up, takes up a ton of space but it does cover more of the window and is a bit more snug.
