    Giant Green Injectors for 1.8t?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have done some searching but I do not see much about Giant Green Injectors? I have a 2002 1.8t and I am planning on Motoza Stage 1+ remote tune. I did find one person running this set up from Australia but I would like other's input/reviews of these injectors. Eventually I plan on running a K04 and believe these injectors will work with that set up. I really like the price of Giant Green's compared to TT225's. Thoughts/suggestions?

Here are a couple listings I am looking at on ebay:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-Giant-...4dc861&vxp=mtr

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/40-lb-42-lb-...72e4a0&vxp=mtr

    Any input is greatly appreciated

I haven't heard good things about the knock off injectors. I believe Bosch makes the real ones and I know you can find them for around $50 each.

I did see that ecs sold them. I never had intentions of buying knockoffs but now that you mention it I see that the eBay links do not actually say they are Bosch. I should have looked closer but I figured that giant greens were the name of the Bosch injectors only. Thank you!

Well the tt injectors are 386cc and the green giants are 440cc. Green giants aren't bad, but if your run calls for a smaller injector then the 440s won't work that well. Almost a 20% sifference in flow rate which basically maxes out the fuel trims which is very bad.

Short answer, get the proper injectors the tune calls for, getting different ones because they're cheaper will only cause you to "buy twice".

I was talking to a engine tuner about this recently and apparently according to him, the green giants have a different spray pattern that the OEM or even the TT, he suggested these
    http://www.blueovalindustries.com/en7700.html

as they have the same spray pattern as our OEM.

The TT injectors are OEM as well. Some tunes specifically call for the 386cc TT injectors (APR) as their spray patter is better than the 380cc injectors. I can't remember specifically why other than the conical spray better is much better and at a better angle? I'm just spitballin'. The 440cc injectors are overkill for anything k04 or smaller.

I'm running the green giants 440cc, with my Motoza Stage 1+ and my KO3 (planning for a KO4 later in the year) and it runs fine. it idles like stock and pulls well. I'm waiting for an update from Dave, but s far no issues. also highway mileag seems about the same.

From what I recall, there are green tops and green giants. They are different. The green giants are what you would get because they have the same spray pattern as stock (I believe dual cone). And the other green tops do not. And they may be overkill for a K03, but it just means they won't be worked as hard. You just need to make sure the tune is setup for the size injector you are using.

    Giant Green Injectors for 1.8t?

I'm pretty sure OP could run 880cc's as long as their scaled down. Correct me if I'm wrong but you can run any injector you like as long as the scaling is tuned proper?...

I'm sure Dave @ Motoza would be able to properly scale your injectors to match your setup. If the car runs like shit, pull a few logs and send them to him and I'm sure he'll be able to tweak whatever needs adjusted.

You are correct. As long as the tune compensates for the larger injector, all is well. However! The spray pattern with green giants is far from optimal, and they're just not the best choice. 550cc ev14's are the best you can get, and they aren't that much more. IIRC, 229 gets you a set of 8. Find a buddy, split the cost.

Trust us as well, that Dave can scale down 440's so that they run just fine with on a K03. While the K03 will not use the full capacity of the 440, it can be scaled to work just fine.

Green Giant injectors are what your looking for in the 440 range, as others have noted the Green Top spray pattern in not optimal.

As stated above. You can use whatever injectors you want as long as the tune is scaled for the ones you intend to use. The 550s are a VERY good injector and are available fairly cheap, probably why they're recommended.

Having said that, no K03/4 turbo can use more fuel than the 386cc injectors can provide. Thats what jubei was saying.

Thank you all for your input! Learning more and more. I actually emailed Dave today and here was his response:

We've been doing a lot more of the 440cc stage 1+ as a stepping stone to K04 and Hybrid K04 tunes. The file is fully setup for the 440cc injectors, fuel trims will be right on. If you ran 440cc on a 380cc tune you would get pretty large fuel trims.

If you have intentions to go with a K04 or a hybrid version such as the F21 then the 440cc is a nice way to future proof and have enough fuel supply in place, otherwise I recommend using the 386cc OEM TT225 or Genesis 380cc.

Upgrading between tunes is only the difference in price between them, so going from 1+ to the Hybrid K04 tune is $100.

I'm one of those that went with the 440cc Green Giants with a K03 and a Motoza Stage 1+ (planning on a K04 later in the year). Car runs great, idles well (just like stock), no significant change in mileage, and a noticeable change in acceleration (just have the first tune now). Very pleased with the upgrade and looking forward to any updates he sends.

Read the part number, google it, and then tell me they're not the same. I have a set sitting in front of me right now in the ford bags.

    Ford part number M-9593-G302 Bosch part number 0 280 158 117

Ford may rate them at 47lbs, but they are bosch 550's.

They have EV6 USCAR plugs. Stock are EV1's. They do require adapters (on b5s that is, not sure about b6's).

Damn, I stand corrected. I've got no idea what those charts say, but if the part numbers match then I suppose they're good. The fact that they're 1/2 the cost of EV14s sold at most places gives me pause, but if they're legit its a solid deal.

If anyone else is interested in jumping on this I am all for it. I just ordered my Motoza tune, but would be happy to pay the upgrade to 1+ for a deal like this.
