    wobble bolts......

OK.... I have a set of 18s that I usually run on my Jetta but they are 5x110.. Would wobble bolts work in making them fit on my a4.. I plan on buying wheels for the a4 soon but it would be nice to run these for the time being.. $80 for some bolts sure beats 1000$+ for the wheels and tires I want... I've looked around the net but I can't get a straight answer... All I see is people going from 5x112 to 5x114... I wanna from 5x112 hub to 5x110 wheel.. Thanks for any help..

Yeah this is true. I would purchase one of them and check to see if they fit the wheel so you don't spend $80 on bolts that won't work.

If the wheels came off a mk4 then wobble bolts probably won't work. I believe going from 5x100 to 5x112 is to much for them.

Side topic.... Is it just me, or do wobble bolts just don't seem to be a safe bet for long term and/or performance use? I know people use these so they can use wheels that were made for other cars, but it seems to me that it would be putting stress points onto areas that could be weak areas.

It's kind of like my similar worry about the use of wheel spacers... I seem to recall that extended use of spacers will shorten the life of the wheel bearings.

    Maybe it's just me....

I know guys who autox on them, they're safe; even TUV approved. Once torqued down the conical/ball seats lock it into place.

Obviously using adapters or the proper lug pattern is best, but you won't have a wheel fly off if you use wobble bolts... sending you into a fast and furious style death.

I used to feel the same way as you about them. Actually I still feel a little uncomfortable with them even though I know its safe. It's the reason I backed out of a crazy deal on some super lightweight TSW's and went with my second choice of AMG wheels instead.
