I found this article talking about the change. There is a big kick on lower car weight and better gas mileage. I just noticed that it was written back in 2009. Im going to wait for the 2014 model and get the higher horsepower. I may have to pay more on financing and have less room for them to knock money off the sticker price due to just coming out, but no way around that.

I drove both the automatic and manual in the S5. The automatic in sport mode(didnt have drive select option) was very snap you back when you hit the gas but then felt like it fizzled a bit in the high end rpms. The stick didnt have that quick instant jolt of power like the auto but the high rpms that you were able to wind out felt like much more power than the auto. I wanted an auto(city driving mostly) but I think Im gonna go with the stick. Oh, I cant afford the drive select option packages, that adds $20k more to the car bundled and just out of my budget.
Hopefully they will post some exact specs on the 2014 soon as I think they release them in Europe mid year and Oct here in the US.
