Wheel size 18x8, is stretching possible?

    Hey guys,

I doing my stance setup right now and Im shopping for new summer tires. I'd like to have a little stretch to ensure a nice fender/wheel fitment. I heard that my wheel size is not appropriate for that kind of job but I want your opinions and advices.

    Cheers!

Stretching is possible sure, you could run a 205 and barely be stretched at all or a 195 but what's the point? You do realize the only logical reason to run a stretched tire is so you could fit a wider wheel with a low offset without trashing your fenders. Seems pointless to me. Why not run a 225/40 and have it handle well if you can fit it?

Because stretched look is awesome. But you're right. Next set of wheels (if there is..) will be wider than 18x8.

    ...................so awesome.

Don't get me wrong I'm running a 215/40 on an 18x8.5 so it's a slight stretch. Only reason I did it though is because the offset is +15. If I didn't run a stretch my fenders would get trashed. I also did a roll and slight pull.

But running a 195 tire on a b6/b7 platform is just plain stupid. Run a 215 or a 225 and call it a day. You'll thank yourself later. Not to mention you're never going to find a tire that comes even close to the correct load index as our cars with a 195 or 205.

Definitely, definitely wider than 8" for stretch on your chassis. As mentioned above, 195/205 is a minor stretch, and a tire that narrow on your car is silly for so many reasons.
