This seems to be a reasonable iOS friendly reader and application. Anyone here using it?

Also interested to see if anybody else has any experience with this. Seems too good to be true for that price.

$200 is not inexpensive for how simple the tech is. It's about $10 of parts.

I looked into this a few months back and ended up with the Gopoint BT1.
    http://gopointtech.com/buy-now/

I only use it for logging speed/rpm/etc data to use with my gopro or iPhone videos.

Harry did an excellent comparison on his website and that's one of the reasons I went with it.

I've got some videos that show data from the Gopoint BT1 in my mod thread. I've happy with it and would recommend. I think you can leave it plugged in all the time but I only plug it in when I need it. It beeps to let you know it turns on.

EDIT: I think there is a big difference between these devices and the VAGCOM tool. Just in case there is some confusion.

Yea I didn't take into account the price for the app.

I've been using Logworks with my iPhone. It uses OT-2, and is a free app.

    OBDII data logging

I got the kiwi last week and it works fine with Harry's lap timer and Dash Command apps. It's wifi, where GoPoint is Bluetooth.

I did run into an issue with the number of devices I want to use.

    -Escort Live is Bluetooth
-GoPro3 is wifi to get it to work with Harry's
-Kiwi is wifi if I want data for Harry's lap timer

So I tried setting the gopro to rc control and starting it myself, but then you have to sync it with the lap timer start.

So I think I may rethink this process and see of GoPoint can also be connected with Escort Live and handsfree Bluetooth.

I have the Kiwi thing. It's what I use with the Harry's app whenever I go to autox or tracks. I've also used it with the Rev app on the streets. The only problem is how much info the Audi ECU will provide. IIRC, you can't get boost, ECT, or Timing from your ECU.

Boost and Timing, I believe, are on non-standard OBD-II channels. Generic devices are not going to look for them there...

Are you talking about Audi ECU's only, specially B8 S4? I can get both the boost and timing when I used the Kiwi and Rev app in my 335i.

I ordered this cable and the purchased the iPhone app. You plug it into the ODBII port all the way back by the clutch. It's kind of a pain in the ass to get to. The connector edge is rubber so you have to bend it a little bit with your finger to get it to plug together. It has about 20 pins in 2 rows. The cable is a wifi hotspot. Connect to it from the iPhone and give it a static IP of 192.168.0.11/24. The OBD interface is exposed on 192.168.0.10:35000 - the app will try to connect to this well known port and address.

Once it's connected you can tuck it up under the dash. I'm going to leave it there forever.

I have an issue with the kiwi 2, I find that I have to plug it in every time to get the wifi to wake up, there is a power button on it but it does not seem to do anything, only unplugging and plugging back in does anything.

Does anyone have this issue or can you leave it plugged in, start the car and have the wifi activate? If yes, please post a picture of your jumper setting, maybe that is my issue..
