Valet button..

By accident I pushed the valet button in the glove box. Can you tell me what that does and how to turn it off.I keep pushing the button but it does not go off.Thanks for the help!

It limits the RPMs to 3k and keeps your trunk locked. I forget if it does anything else. Did you try shutting the car off/on? You should just be able to push it off....

try holding it down until the light turns off.

I have kept pushing it and it will not go off and now I cannot get into the trunk!

Are you sure about the 3000rpm thing? I will need to test this.

Held it in for 30 seconds..nothing.Does the engine have to be on or it does not matter.

Try getting out of the car. Lock it. Unlock it and try again.

Doesn't hurt to try it that way and see. BTW, what does the owner's manual say ?

Actually Din you're right. I got confused for a sec with APR's valet mode which limits the RPMs. The 5s Valet mode just keeps the trunk locked.

Just looked at the owners manual and it didn't say anything about deactivation.

I locked it and unlocked it and started the engine but no luck.

I'm at a loss. It's always worked flawlessly for me. You'll likely have to take it to a dealer (better sooner rather than later, being the weekend), unless anybody can come up with something else?

Took it to the dealer and need a new switch...hope my wife has enough air in the trunk till Tuesday :)

The real question is, what is your wife doing in the trunk in the first place and was it really an accident that you pressed the Valet button ? :)
