i love both looks, but i can only pick one -__- the gunmetal would look nice with carbon accents on the car. and the black would look nice with black accents. i cant make up my mind! lol

I black wheels on white cars. Gunmetal looks good too, but the black will look better.

Black was the way to go in the 90's and early 2000. IMO black makes it look like the wheels are cheap or like you're running steelies. You can't really see the design of the wheels with black. However, gunmetal is aggressive and still classy.

From what I've noticed, guys that really know about wheels always stay away from black .....seriously though.

HyperBlack? - custom VMR finish. IIRC there's some pics in the Wheels thread.
Recall it's a black overcoat on silver finish.

+1, I would go Gunmetal. The black on white has been done a lot, and they do run the risk of looking like steelies at first glance.

Another nod for Gunmetal. I was in the same predicament as you for my Phantom Black, but after seeing many pictures, I thought the Gunmetal really stood out. At the last minute though I went with the TSW Nurburgring and it's gunmetal color is a bit different, more of a matte gunmetal. Some days I wish I went with the V710, others i love the matte gunmetal. Either way, you will be much happier with the gunmetal than you will with the black.

Interesting. I went through the same comparison when deciding over a year ago - TSW gunmetal matte v. VMR gunmetal gloss. I chose the VMRs simply b/c they showed more sheen/brightness during daytime.
What influenced your decision - believe you and I have BB/PB rides - got pics?

Here's a couple quick pictures I uploaded. I ultimately went with the TSW's because it saved me roughly $200-$300 dollars. While I do like them, in less than a couple months I have had issues with peeling on one of the wheels. I am just unsure if its because Audi/Discount Tire scratched them at some point and it started to peel, or if it was just a bad finish. I've been putting it off for a while, but I am going to bring them into Discount Tire to get it replaced under warranty hopefully, if they determine its just a bad wheel. No one seems to be able to match the matte gray color to simply repair them.

Look good in your pics, especially with your AZ desert background
Matching gunmetal finish is an issue - I asked VMR over a year ago for their gunmetal paint code, they said it was proprietary or something like that.
    Hope you can get repaired.

Don't hate because I don't like black wheels. Geez, it almost sounds like you have black wheels or something just messing with you. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, like I stated in my post, not liking black wheels is just MY preference.

Wheel style/color is totally a personal preference.
Not a fan of black wheels except on a red car. Gunmetal would be better IMO.

Ha, mine were 19x9.5 et33 when they didn't offer B8 fitment, so they were on point! Kinda miss those wheels to be honest.

definitely gunmetal, it still gives it a nice luxury look, was never a fan of black wheels and they just look like you're a track car or something and just take away so much detail from the wheels, and from far looks like you're on steelies lol.

but definitely gunmetal no doubt, but if you really like the black just go ahead and get the gunmetal and plastidip them black when you want and peel when you're done. you can always replicate the black finish with dip but you can't replicate the gunmetal without getting it professionally powdercoated/painted.

I would def go with black on a white car. I had the V710 matte black on my 04 Dolphin Grey A4. I just got a 201 black A4 I think i am going to go black again. All the accents on the car are black, got to match everything

I've got Ibis and went with black M310s which look the same as the V710. I've had a few people tell me that their not "fans" of black wheels in general but they said it looks good with my white car. I agree that Black hides the details of the wheel but I like the aggressive look. I think you can't go wrong with either but my vote is black. I've got some photos spread throughout my mod thread if you're interested.

One more thing, get black lug nuts as well. Looks better.

It's all personal preference. For me, gunmetal looks perfect on ibis white. Then again, I've never been a fan of black wheels...
